How fast can these aircraft dump their fuel? Wasn't the flight only a few minutes old at the time of the crash?

In that same briefing with Patkati and the mayor, there was a mention that the reason other flights were prevented from taking off was that they had to inspect the fuel (which would take several hours).
Contaminated fuel? Ever heard of such a thing?

Wasn't the flight only a few minutes old at the time of the crash? NTSB reported that the plane took off at 9:13 and crashed at 9:17.
Four minutes is an awfully short time to develop "mechanical troubles" AND dump fuel. JMHO.

Pretty damn fast in an emergency.

Someone on MSNBC, around 5:30 EST, said he doubts the pilot would have had time to dump the fuel. He said what more likely happened, was when the engine fell off it hit the fuel line.
