BTW, one of my prized possessions he had was an autographed copy of Jim Berryman's famous editorial cartoon of the Iwo Jima flag-raising carrying Truman's apology for slighting the Corps.

Wow! I will bet that has some monetary value as well. Is it in good condition? Is it framed? Is it stored between acid free paper? Patriotic memorabilia is very popular. While I know you would never sell it, it should be preserved properly for your beneficiaries.

Happy Birthday, Jarhead!

Interservice rivalry being what it has historically been, You could suffer no greater a compliment than to be insulted by an Army guy.

God Bless the USMC. IMHO the best team players on, "the team."

"It's about time you 2 showed up at the USO Canteen again."

The good MPs try not to be too conspicuous when the troopies are having fun. As for J6P1, it's the USMC's birthday...I wouldn't blame him at all if he's passed out by now!

Come on over to the Condit Freep report. Jim Rob posted a picture from today's freep. I stood proudly in my Dress Blues to honor our Vets and Military. I passed inspection.

And I'm sorry to be so late checking in - we were watching Cousin Vinny on the tellie. You now have not a double, but a triple vodka, on the house.

Any troop checking in, please feel free to free-pour (no jiggers allowed), and serve yourselves - we love and appreciate all that you do for us - we wish that we could be there, and that you could be back here. God bless and keep you all, JL
