And the question is?

How about a pool on how many posts before you get an answer. I take 148.

Sheesh! (I mean) "Cheese!" Look around. So many mindless, pointless, feckless, gutless, meaningless vanity posts it's like a wasteland of processed cheese food product out there tonight!

I believe the first time I saw cheese referenced it was by OWK (test for you: what does OWK stand for?). It was on a stupid question or departing opus thread many, many moons ago. He just said "I like cheese" and it took off from there. It has now become a kind of cult thing, one that generates laughs every time, unlike the whole "Your base belong to us" crap that has gotten way out of hand......

BTW: I LOVE Swiss cheese!

Here is the Cheese of the Day for Tuesday, November 6, 2001

Caciocavallo

Caciocavallo has mysterious origins. It is hung with a string tie. It is prepared much the same as Provolone; it is ripened for 3 months for a table cheese or 6 months for a grating version.
In Italy, the expression "to end up like Caciocavallo" means to be hanged.

Rush
S. Roy

As she stood over the little block, scraping it with a sharp blade, she couldn't help but notice how much the little green curls reminded her of wood shavings. She continued scraping away and soon, amidst the pile of forest green, an ivory white emerged, its brilliance filling the room like radiant sunlight would through high canopies of a tropical jungle. Panting from her efforts, she stood back and allowed herself to absorb the rush which normally followed. It was for this, and this reason only, that she let the mozzarella sit for so long in the fridge.

Ode to Cheese
Gerardo Casanova

Oh! Cheese...
You fatty one
Either cheddar, Blue or Swiss
Clog my arteries,
if you must
But still let me taste you,
Before it does
Oh! Cheese...
The spreading kind, On my cracker, bagel or Ritz
Either from ball, jar or can.
Hike up my cholesterol
if you must,
there will be no other unsaturated fat that I trust,
Oh! Cheese...
kill me if you want
I'll keep having you
any time I want.

;-`)

To be quite honest, I HAVEN'T THE SLIGHTEST IDEA! And I seriously doubt anyone does. But hey, it's catchy...and what's more, i don't particularly like cheese-though I did have cheese chowder today...
