He did that after he got set up by William Lear and another UFO freak--they made up some stuff one night with their attorney, announced it as "new data" at a MUFON convention when he was in the room, and he said, "Oh, yeah, I saw the files on this, yeah, it's the real thing." He got HAMMERED on the spot for that in the UFO community, and he basically was forced to leave that community for being proven a complete BS artist.
