Sheriff's Deputy Shot; Suspect Killed

A sheriff's deputy in eastern Arizona is hospitalized in critical condition after being shot while trying to arrest a suspect. The suspect was in turn shot and killed.

The confrontation occurred in the town of Eager around midnight.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Officer Steve Volden says the Apache County sheriff's deputy was shot twice in the head. He was airlifted to a Phoenix hospital.

His name wasn't immediately released.

Volden says the deputy was among several officers who were attempting to arrest 58-year-old William Milton Cooper of Eagar.

Volden says Cooper had been armed with a handgun. He says details of the shooting will be released later at a news conference. DPS was called in to investigating the shooting.

Just Curious

Government agents attempting to take him by deception IS self-defense.

That's why we have a second amendment, ....

The second ammendment states nothing about deception as a law enforcement technique being illegal or unconstitutional. There are protections against entrapment...but that applies to tricking the accused into commiting an unlawful act. They already had lawful warrants for his past actions, and were just using what methods deemed appropriate to capture a suspect who has repeatedly avoided and evaded capture. And I think most jury's would acquit if the guy shot plain clothes cops who didn't identify themselves. But if the undercover policemen DO identify themselves, and if anyone resists arrest with lethal force, whether the apprehending officer is uniformed or not, then the offender will be in a tough spot.

Lawabiding citizens who care to own weapons are not routinely seen as "fringers and nutjobs". Some militia's, and many groups who try to avoid obligations to their country, taxes, military service, etc., are sometimes seen as "fringers and nutjobs".

A lot of ISPs block ICMP packets, because they can be used for Denial of Service attacks (basically, someone uses a bunch of ICMP packets to tie up the server and prevent it from responding to legitimate requests) or for footprinting a network (mapping a network so that it can be attacked).

From his Website:

With a deep sense of loss and mourning we announce the passing of William Cooper.

It appears at this time to be totally unrelated to the disputes he had with the federal government. All we know at this time is that he was shot and killed by an Apache County Sheriff around 12:15 AM this morning while serving of an arrest warrant on a local issue. A sheriff was also wounded.

Remain Calm! This is in no way a cause for action, but all patriots should be on high alert at this time.

Do NOT listen to or spread undocumented and unconfirmed RUMORS! If it is not here it is not confirmed as fact. Updates will be posted here as they become available.

We MUST all remember his love of freedom, America, the Constitution and the values it is founded on.

Who do you think wrote that?

Must be tough for though going through life with no spine and total disconnect from reality.

You would know, freak. I suggest you pay attention...and your taxes, lest you wind up face down next this pile of garbage you call a "hero".

WACO - 51 days to turn himself in and plead his case in court. He chose to endanger children and have a shoot out with federal agents. RUBY RIDGE - you may have a point with this one, as I don't know much about the reasons why there was a seige and subsequent battle. COOPER - When the police say hands up, you put your hands up.

I'd like to stay and chat, but you see, Bush, Condy Rice and David Rockefeller are kicking in my front door, because I didn't put enough postage on my phone bill.

NWO crime, punishable by death, you know.

Sure wish I had some of you "freedom fighters" here to protect me, since you "know the score". But then again you wouldn't waste your time on sheeple like me. You'd just line me up with the cops and other "infidels" and fire away.

Oh damn! Kissinger's with them.

About this guy, till I see some other facts he reaped what he sowed. His website especially the daily updates are enlightening to his state of mind ... not good
