Sheriff's Deputy Shot; Suspect Killed

A sheriff's deputy in eastern Arizona is hospitalized in critical condition after being shot while trying to arrest a suspect. The suspect was in turn shot and killed.

The confrontation occurred in the town of Eager around midnight.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Officer Steve Volden says the Apache County sheriff's deputy was shot twice in the head. He was airlifted to a Phoenix hospital.

His name wasn't immediately released.

Volden says the deputy was among several officers who were attempting to arrest 58-year-old William Milton Cooper of Eagar.

Volden says Cooper had been armed with a handgun. He says details of the shooting will be released later at a news conference. DPS was called in to investigating the shooting.

...he has given me endless amusement over the years...
You provide instant amusement. Why wait years?
Hmmmm...over the years...
A non-follower who closely followed?! Another interesting comment!
Why would you follow someone who did not interest you? Simply for "amusement"? Hard to believe that of you from your own admissions of your busy life.
Your own words do seem to be stacked against you.
Despite your apparent sympathy you do seem quite pleased at his demise.

...he is probably one of the most knowledgable freepers when it comes to military affairs...
Based upon whose estimation? Yours? And what do you have to compare it against? Your own knowledge or someone elses? He is merely a "contractor", by his own admission, and gets the majority of his learning from books and publications. Again, by his own words.

My heart is saddened by his death, but I also realize that he has now paid the penalty of sin might be headed for better rewards.

For those who don t know who William Cooper was, or have not read much of his writings, I'll offer some of my personal impressions.

1) He will definitely be labeled in the Conspiracy Theory, Lunatic Fringe, Tin-Foil Hat club.

2) With that out of the way, if one attempts to rigorously decipher his in-depth and amazingly consistant themes in conspiracy theories, written from essentially a Judeo-Christian cultural point of view, one is left to ponder how many of his accepted premises are either true, partially true, metaphor for ulterior operations, or perhaps largly true and incredible with a few distracting misinformation tidbits thrown in by others or circumstance to cast a fog of information warfare.

3) His Conspiracy Theories, regardless of truth, obviously touched upon areas of intense Spiritual Warfare. Either he was right on accurate, hence pointing the finger at Satanic occultic conspiracies with incredible consistency, or his theories were false, but so consistent as to tip some occultic plan involving mis/disinformation. E.G. he was close to the target, but it isn't without doubt as to the exact name of the evil object in his theories other than being associated with grand malevolent deception.

4) His infamy or doubt placed on his credibility by those who scoff at possible conspiracy, if anything probably provided additional security for him from ulterior forces.

If anybody is truly threatened surrounding Cooper, it's probably anybody within shouting distance of his papers, files, and personal effects or anybody associated with those surrounding his death. Mainly because the issues he discussed were so incredible that any intel operation would probably devote significant resources to gain absolute control over his possible notes or documentation. Regardless if it was true or false.

5) Isn't it interesting how recent 'terrorists' exhibit demon possessed traits and we are told repeatedly how battle must be waged in underground caverns? in Afghanistan even after numerous fires broke out in US national labs over the past few years. What's interesting is that these little themes are wholly consistent with Coopers musings.

"If you don't like the income tax, work to get it repealed, because pretending it somehow doesn't exist or doesn't apply to you is a pretty silly argument"

Socialist America loves the income tax. Why would they get rid of it? BTW who pays income taxes? Any tax gurus out there? Rush once discussed that only half of America actually pays an income tax.

We, the people, ARE govt. The elected officials have been going beyond their Constitutionally designated boundaries for some time. So, we can charge them with sedition?

Interesting question. I'm not a lawyer or a Constitutional scholar. But my thinking is that if you read the Constitution (and appropriate precedential law), we do have processes in place to address the wrongs of the members of our government. This includes impeachment of the President. Other members of government are usually (but far from always) subject to the same laws as the citizens. Change, unless blatantly criminal, is usually done through the vote.

The right to bear arms, and militias (I do have some questions about that...but that's another topic! :) are one means to ensure that the government stays in line and is representative of the people. I don't believe it was EVER intended to be the primary or preferred means....that's why we have a voting process.

I don't have the answer, and don't know where to draw the line. I guess I'm more asking questions for intelligent debate.

Gosh, you broke-a da code...might it be that we are in the minority on this one, and need to focus our efforts on educating our fellow citizens?

As for paying income taxes: yes, only half pay an actual tax, but we ALL pay business taxes (because the cost is passed on to us in the form of higher prices).

Then why do you get so strident over what people say about you?

Cooper volunteered for his fate. Ain't my lookout--but he has given me endless amusement over the years, and I am sorry that he apparently believed his own BS to the point where he decided to get killed over it.

If you don't like the income tax, work to get it repealed, because pretending it somehow doesn't exist or doesn't apply to you is a pretty silly argument. Article I, Section 8, and Amendment XVI pretty much make it clear that the income tax is fully Constitutional.

Keep trying...you're not even close to making an argument.

You may not be a plant but you sure sound like one.

I can't believe some of the stuff I'm reading here.

An American citizen was shot to death by police, loads of questions about the circumstances of the event and the warrant unanswered, and people treating it like it's some kind of joke.

Yes, there is, but you will never be able to understand it.

Go back to sleep.

I spent a couple of nights at Show Low and one night at Springerville a few years ago. These places are extremely remote, on high desert grassy plains. To the south are mountains and canyons. Nothing around much but a few Mormons and cows. Nice people. There’s a law over there that says if you hit a cow on the highway, you’ve got to pay for the cow.

A famous “abduction” story is centered near Snowflake, about 20 miles north of Show Low. Some redneck hippie lumber worker couldn’t find his way home for a few days. His experience was turned into a TV movie.

Who was Cooper? I never heard of him before.

Yeah, educate America on the income tax when half do not even pay it. Dream on little dreamer. BTW what have you done to educate America on the income tax?

IMO we should take a page from the left, grab the megaphones and whistles and shout down those who defend confiscatory taxes.

Maybe that will get thru?

Well, given that it was William Milton Cooper, who claimed to be a "General" in the "Second Continental Army," and who pretty much said OUTRIGHT that he would shoot anyone who looked cross-eyed at him...ON HIS OWN WEB PAGE, NO LESS...

It IS pretty laughable that anyone find this somehow suspicious.

One point of view which bears noting is that if Cooper was on the right track, then even if he knew he might be getting set-up, or facing a certian contrived death, what frame of mind would he have been in to have killed his fellow man and not afford that person a certain opportunity for eternal salvation?

I recognize he probably acted in perceived self-defense, but for a person so dedicated to the conspiracy theories he investigated, one must wonder a bit about the deputy's death and Cooper's agency.

Hiya Fred. You're a little late to the show.
Who was Cooper? I never heard of him before.
You'll have to come back tomorrow after everybody gets their story lined out. All they are able to do tonight is play crack-up.
Besides Fred, I thought you were "in the know" like the others. You're really tipping your hand this time. You always know everything.
