My good friend and Free Republic regular Jeff Head spoke with me on the phone this afternoon with the great news that POCKETPCPRESS, a major publisher of electronic books, has expressed strong interest in Jeff's recently completed work of fiction:
Which is a tale of the coming third world war. Mr. Doug Clapp of PocketPCpress wrote in his endorsement on Jeff's website:
"My company, PocketPCpress, gets to see a ton of novel submissions. Most are truly terrible...which is sad. We wish it weren't so.
We recently had the good fortune to read Dragon's Fury-Breath of Fire by Jeff Head and -- for the first time in a long, long while -- we were absolutely knocked out.
Don't be mislead by the fact that -- for now -- this is a self-published book offered only on the author's website. I'm sure this won't be the case for long. This is an amazingly accomplished, professional, techno-thriller that will make you turn page after page after page -- and enjoy every minute of it.
I could go on about plotting and characterization and all that, but I won't. This is simply a hellava great read and "right on" about what's happening in the world today. Tom Clancy now has some serious, serious competition."
Doug Clapp
Jeff went on to mention that Mr. Clapp has also put him in contact with a New York literary agent who has requested expedited delivery of a complete hard copy manuscript in anticipation of possible print publication. For those of you who may not have seen the initial announcement, excerpts from Jeff's book Breath of Fire can be found here.
This is a most noteworthy and laudable achievement and a source of pride for all of us here. It is also even further evidence that Free Republic is the beacon of American liberty which both attracts and stimulates the brightest minds to be found on the net or anywhere. Congratulations to you, Jeff !
I have been dealing with Lightning Source and now PocketPCPress. I believe Doug will do a bang-up job. He sure likes it and has given it as good a review and a plug as possible and I appreciate it and will be loyal to that.
Hope it does well enough for you to feature it.

BUMP'ing back in the same vein.
The excerpts are great and I look forward to reading it.
Best of luck and keep those books coming

I look forward to seeing it there at: KBSBooks.com

... and don't worry, I'll be there. Am planning on being in Klamath in January should it be at all necessary. Still have a 54" bypass or two to put in!

Lots of good stuff in there, not only technologically and militarily, but also constitutionally. Touches on EO's, Homeland Security and all types of things.
FRegards!
I think it's a stretch, maybe such a comparison can be made after a whole lot of sales and after the other volumes in this series do well ... but this guy reads a lot of books and I will gladly and graciously accept the compliment.
I know I never would have read Clancy if it had not been available in the stores, so I am hoping against hope that somehow the book can be made available in the stores around the country.
If that happens ... then we shall see for sure how it does.
Regards.
I've always appreciated your research & writing and wanted to be sure you saw this notice of the interest in Jeff's book. Best to you, Unc !
I got the manuscriot off okay on Saturday so we'll see how it goes.
Got a trip to see the grandson late this week.
Been having quite the "set to" with Poohbah on the Why Militias are Dead Thread starting in about post 12 through 28 or so. You may find some interest in that.
Stay well, gotta get back to work.
FRegards.
