My good friend and Free Republic regular Jeff Head spoke with me on the phone this afternoon with the great news that Pocket PCpress, a major publisher of electronic books, has expressed strong interest in Jeff's recently completed work of fiction Breath of Fire, a tale of the coming third world war. Mr. Doug Clapp of PocketPCpress wrote in his endorsement on Jeff's website:
"My company, PocketPCpress, gets to see a ton of novel submissions. Most are truly terrible...which is sad. We wish it weren't so.
We recently had the good fortune to read Dragon's Fury-Breath of Fire by Jeff Head and -- for the first time in a long, long while -- we were absolutely knocked out.
Don't be mislead by the fact that -- for now -- this is a self-published book offered only on the author's website. I'm sure this won't be the case for long. This is an amazingly accomplished, professional, techno-thriller that will make you turn page after page after page -- and enjoy every minute of it.
I could go on about plotting and characterization and all that, but I won't. This is simply a hellava great read and "right on" about what's happening in the world today. Tom Clancy now has some serious, serious competition."

Jeff went on to mention that Mr. Clapp has also put him in contact with a New York literary agent who has requested expedited delivery of a complete hard copy manuscript in anticipation of possible print publication. For those of you who may not have seen the initial announcement, excerpts from Jeff's book Breath of Fire can be found here.
This is a most noteworthy and laudable achievement and a source of pride for all of us here. It is also even further evidence that Free Republic is the beacon of American liberty which both attracts and stimulates the brightest minds to be found on the net or anywhere. Congratulations to you, Jeff !
Congratulations again, Jeff.
I've been super busy this afternoon and still am. Trying to get this manuscript ready and printed out on my slow HP 952 is taking time and eating up ink cartridges!
Doug at PocketPcPress has been phenominla! He read it, loved it and we're working on his company having the EBook publishing rights while he is getting me in contact with a several agents for print publication on a large scale.
In the mean time, I will personally have these first orders printed and filled either late next week or the week after. Ebooks will be on sale at my site, as will the printed books until a deal is inked and the books are actually available for sale through the other channel ... that should still be several weeks if everything goes well and we ink a deal. I'm not taking anything for granted though and am still forging ahead with my own efforts.
Again Chris, thanks! Without you and Joanief and all of the others (as mentioned on the acknowledgment page) ... I doubt the work would have gotten the kind of review or response it has.
I'll try and answer a few of the posts that are directed at me on this thread over the next few minutes and then will get back and answer them all later tonight.
Ebooks and print available there.
Print shipping late next week or the week after.
Most of all, I hope the book and its message gets out to as wide an audience as possible.
Regards and God's best to you and yours.
Those days at the capitol last fall, taking on the Gore were GREAT.
Pass the word of this book to others. It's message is really what I hope gets a wide audience.
God bless!
I have a detailed outline for all five already done and figure I can churn out each one, ready to deliver to market every six months.
I personally can't stand waiting a year for the next in a series that I get in to and decided if mine ever did well, I'd turn them around faster. Just won't leave much time to play ... but my Dad taught me to make my work my play and it's been great advise.
Regards.

When the printed books come in, I have a list of all the orders and all of the requests and will sit there and do it as I package them up that day.
Great being the President, janitor, shipping and receiving ... nobody but yourself to point to and it's hard to have too many turf battles or too much politics in such an environment LOL! and I love that!.
But kind of limits the volume, so maybe one of these outfits will pick it up and run with it so I can really dive into volume II
I hope it works out ... but am trying to keep a good frame of reference. Rarely does the first "bite" turn into a trophy winner ... but then again, stranger things have happened.
We'll keep working real hard and see how it turn out.
without the forward letter and endorsement by this individual, it is not likely an agent would take the time with an unknown such as myself. So, either way, I am grateful for the opportunity.
Keep after it on yours bro ... I believe your story line is a winner, particularly with all the KABA news and interest right now.
PS Try not to give the bad guys any ideas! :-}
