I am not sure how seriously I can take someone that seems to indicate that Tolkien's novels are Christian Fantasy. Even in the Chronicles of Narnia, there are those characters that use Magic, both wisely and unwisely.

Well said. One cannot tell whether Tolkien was a Christian just by reading his novels. Many might think just the opposite.

If J.K. Rowlings had issued a statement last year proclaiming that she is an evangelical Christian, the author of this piece would be prattling on about how deeply her Christianity had expressed itself throughout the Harry Potter series. For all I know, Rowlings may be a Christian.

Maybe not tell for certain (and he was a very devout Christian) but there's enough in his books to highly suggest that he was. The Silmarillion in particular.

This article here starts out with an ad hominem attack, saying Potter fans do not address the concerns of those who think the series is anti-Christian. From reading this article, I get the impression that the burn-Potter party have not read the books: The Harry Potter books are a classic struggle of good against evil. I'd say (and I have read all of them) that J.K. Rowling is almost in the same league as Tolkien and Lewis. She is considerably funnier than Tolkien or Lewis ever tried to be. If C.S. Lewis were not known as a Christian philosopher the same people getting on J.K. Rowling's case would say the Narina world was a dangerous heresy.
