There were some threads on this when the firings took place.
The gaping hole in this story is no reply from the knucklehead who WROTE the tripe.

In the words of John Lennon, "Give peace a chance."
Had he been armed, he might still be able to say that.

What Israel has to realize is, the Arabs ain't going nowhere ... Oh, I daresay they're going somewhere. Probably not where they expected, though. Just as that "writer".

Although I read about the editorial and the firings, I never read the editorial. I thought it might be a "Blame America First" type of reaction that got some young scribes in trouble.
Having just read it, I came to the conclusion it was worse:
It was an anti-Israel Hate America First screed.
They deseved the door - glad they got it.
So rare nowadays.

Although I read about the editorial and the firings, I never read the editorial You didn't read it because it was yanked so fast it left a scorch mark. Interesting that Poynter.org perpetuates it. Perhaps that will be the next roost of those vultures.

'but not endearing themselves in the hearts of the Arabs who inhabited that part of the world'
Historically incorrect, there were no 'Arabs' in the world at that time. There were no muslims until the 700's AD, about 5000 years after the Jews earliest works. If anything, she's talking about the Babylonians, the Egyptians, the Chaldeans, the Sumerians, the Romans and Greeks, and so many more cultures which existed until islam destroyed them with fire and sword.

The irony is, this incident seems to prove the allegations the anti-semites make about who actually controls the media in this country!

This is a High-School level "Editorial", to be very generous. If these morons can't write (or think) any better than this, they should find another line of work.
Perhaps something in the food-service industry...

While concluding that this incident appears to justify complaits about undo influence over the American media by certain interest groups, you call those who make this point antisemites, I'll see your Irony and raise you one more.

Maybe the people of Oneida should rethink their position on becoming a sex commune again. It would keep them out of trouble.
OTOH, then they would have to put up with Bill. ADL or Clinton? ADL or Herpes? Nah, forget that I even suggested it.

What Israel has to realize is that the Arabs ain't going nowhere...Likewise, the Arabs have to realize that Israel is there to stay as well...

Poynter is a educational/promotional/clearing house/watering hole site/organization for journalists.
It is an interesting place to see scribes interact with one another.
There's a "media news" and letters area where they let their hair down, and you can see what's *really* important to them, and how they approach their work and the world.
No surprises, of course.

Excellent post. I had not read the editorial. It is worse than I imagined. This has no place on an editorial page.
Until 1948, there was no Israel. The United Nations took Palestinian land and gave it to a number of Jewish terrorists to rule -- Jewish terrorists who had bombed and killed Palestinians and others in an effort to force hands of power to see an Israel formed. Today's freedom fighter, in many cases, was yesterday's terrorist.
I wish the writer a long and unproductive period of unemployment.

I was stunned when I read the editorial.

"...bombing of the King David Hotel..."
It was British army headquarters at the time.
Also, they called the Brits and told them to get out half an hour before the blast (the Brits ignored the call).
Quite a difference versus bombing a disco full of kids.
