You've got to be kidding! IMHO that's the direct opposite of what we should be doing. If we truly had credible evidence of someone wanting to have that sort of attack you could EASILY prepare for it and not only prevent the attack but capture the terrorists at the same time. To let them know we know, only ensures that they switch targets and dates and does not help us capture anyone.

That's what I thought too! I guess they must have weighed the possibility that they could fail to thwart the attack and have everybody up in arms because they weren't told about it, against actually catching the guys and making them talk. That's the problem with terrorism: crowd control becomes more important than catching the f)ckers.
