Talk show host Tom Sullivan just reported that during a press conference Gov. Davis said he was notified that there is evidence that terrorists plan to target the Coronado Bridge (San Diego), the Golden Gate & Bay Bridges (San Francisco) and an LA Bridge (didn't catch the name) tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 2nd.

That's ok...I don't think there's much there (north of LA). There's also not much East either :) LOL

Yeah, suicide bridge.
That's the only one I could think of. It's old and historic in that way. I think it is still closed to traffic, but am not sure. Right by my house. It is open.
FWIW, it spans a national guard facility, you can see the jeeps from the 210.

I really wish my co-workers were not going across that bay bridge tomorrow. I have checked alternate routes for their return should there be closures; charged up the cell phones, they are taking water and blankets and a good book!

Yes. Jews have been living there since Moses.

Airliners for skyscrapers. Cruise ships for bridges?
Ships are the more massive battering ram, of the two choices.

Talked to my uncle last night, a retired Marine, who lives about 30 miles from Coronado Bridge, he said he is more worried about the nuclear plant 18 miles away from him than he is the bridge.

Airliners for skyscrapers. Cruise ships for bridges? Or tankers or freighters with explosive cargo. actually I would have preferred they not give out soecifics on this threat as it could have blown an exellent ambush.

I can identify with his worry. I live about 15 miles from a similar plant here in Central California. And I was stationed at Camp Pendleton twice with reserve units there. I am very familiar with the area...
But just imagine.. you have seen accidents on smaller bridges with cars and how many go over and into the water because they cannot stop. Now just think how awful that is with the huge bridges not just in California but elsewhere too. Still the idea of a meltdown in California would ruin the state just as Cherynoble (sp)..

Yep .. And that 'cane is a doozy ! You know , It may just be best that this caveman has an accident . Things happen in the desert that cannot be explained so easily :) . Perhaps not , but the last thing we need is for this scoundrel to come to trial .

Right by my house. It is open. What's going on today? Any guards or anything?
BTW, I lived on the other side of town for a while -- by Hastings Ranch area.
Now I moved a little south of you.

What's going on today? Any guards or anything? Actually I did drive by today.
One lane is closed heading east on Colorado at the bridge.
There are also more cars than usual at the National Guard base below.
I doubt it would be a target, but two neighboring buildings caught may attention, US Court of Appeals and The Western Justice Foundation are right there, along with the Rose Bowl. With JPL and Parsons near by.

I also never thought of suicide bridge as a target.
But, it was the first bridge I thought of when they talked about a bridge in LA.

I think no matter what happens to osama, we have to keep working to get the terrorists out of our country. We don't want him to have a trial because you can bet that would get way out of hand with the sympathizers and I am always concerned about the "list" of suicide volunteers that seems a lot longer than what hijacked the planes on 9-11.
I still think that there was a suicide volunteer in the towers who told people to "go back to their desks and that they were safe." No building mgmt would have done that.

Great shot of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. I can go on it but I cannot drive over it. I have to close my eyes. I am allowed one phobia - that bridge is it. I have seen pictures of other bridges in the U.S. and I don't think I could even be a passenger on one of them!
I don't like knives either. Not afraid of guns particularly. Have a great weekend.
To: harpseal
A cruise ship at 30 knots would take a lot of ambushin'.

yes, you must apologize! because the bridge is WEST of the 405, and yes, on the water!
lol!
