The Word According to POZ Magazine:
Heterosexual AIDS epidemic a 'false medical panic women cannot transmit AIDS to male partners.'
You know change is in the air when a staunchly orthodox AIDS magazine like POZ runs a feature article on 'the myth of heterosexual AIDS.'
The October 2001 cover story 'We've Got the Juice,' begins with this intriguing lead paragraph: 'These women thought they had killer vaginas. Then they learned girls don't give guys AIDS. Now they're sticking it to the officials and advocates who made the myth of heterosexual AIDS,' and goes on from there into a surprising, sometimes bizarre, expose of sorts. Here are a few interesting quotes :'
If we are talking about a heterosexual AIDS epidemic, transmission efficiency would have to go both ways. It doesn't. It stops with a woman and will not cause an epidemic. Plenty of people have known and denied this from the beginning. It all started as a way for AIDS advocates to raise funds. Dr. Joesph Sonnabend, MD, founder, AmFAR 'According to the US Centers for Disease Control1s surveillance report for the year 2000, of all estimated AIDS cases, only 3 percent were heterosexually transmitted'
POZ journalist Patrick Califia 'Among New York City's 15,000 AIDS cases, there were only eight female to male transmissions, and I have doubts about seven.' Former Department of Health investigator Anastasia Lekatas.-
The article also includes the odd contention that men get AIDS from women in Africa and other developing nations, but they do not get AIDS from women in the developed worlds a difference that has not been adequately explained.
I did not find this issue or article at the POZ web site, but according to information there, you can purchase single back issues by calling toll free 800/9-READ POZ, or outside the US 815/734-4151. Please note that subscriptions are offered free of charge to HIV positives.

NO, some of it was from bi-sexual behavior
It would be if 1) the stranger did, in fact, have AIDS, and 2) you are a woman. Both of these must be true for your analogy to work. The title was not misleading.
True. When was the last time you heard of a Hollywood benefit to raise funds to eliminate dysentery?
If the thought of being infected by the AIDS virus by a single act [vaginal sex with an infected partner] that has a 7 in 10,000 [.07%] , and a 7 in 5,000,000 for a single heterosexual act [status unknown ] is scary, imagine being an MSM [men who have sex with men], and being faced by an epidemic illness that is 100% fatal, and, half of all 18 year olds in your classification will be infected before they reach age 30, and, a 1 in 4 chance of transmission for unprotected sex with an known infected partner, and a 1 in 120 chance for unprotected sex with an unknown status partner.
Looking at those risk numbers, anyone who engages in the behavior, can in no way be absolved from purposeful transmission of the virus.

Old news !
Brian's point about loosening the definition of aids is also correct. In most instances, the person who contracts aids already has a decreased immune system because of other diseases. In the US, homosexual males frequently eat each other's feces, and "gay bowel syndrome" was well-known throughout San Francisco prior to the aids outbreak. In Africa, frequently people bathe, urinate, crap, and drink within yards of each other in lakes and rivers. In almost all cases of "heterosexual" aids, you'll find other factors, such as drug abuse, hemophilia, bisexuality, or other "dirty" sexual techniques (those which transmit feces, etc, from one person to another.)
Africa has many endemic diseases that result in open sores - sores that provide the means for "transmission of bodily fluids".
Yes that is an interesting question isn't it?
The answer is actually quite simple. Men get AIDS from women in Africa becuse, if they didn't, then the world wouldn't be sending them all that money. You have to explain the AIDS "pandemic" somehow and that is all they have left. It is a fraud here and it is the same fraud in Africa. It is not about AIDS it is about money. People in Africa die from the same diseases they always have. We just call it AIDS now becuase it is such a money maker.
Junk science is junk science. No scientist worth a dime could fail to recognize that if AIDS isn't contagious between males and females in the U.S. then it is not going to be contageous between males and females in Africa. This is not Rocket Science, it is just common sense.
If HIV was really the virus that causes AIDS would any of the above make sense? Why wouldn't an HIV positive women pass the virus to a man? The answer is she could but, since HIV doen't cause AIDS, nothihg happens. You can explain everything we now know about AIDS with the simple postulate: HIV doesn't cause AIDS. That explains everything you will read about AIDS, the epidemic that never happened.
According to a documentary I saw a few years ago, the reason for the high hetrosexual a.i.d.s. transmission rate is because in Africa men frequently engage in anal intercourse with women as a form of birth control because "the pill" and condoms are too expensive for them.
Men who abstain from homosexual intercourse are rare, both in our era, and throughout history. This abstinence is primarily associated with Christianity, but homosexual intercourse is, nevertheless, de rigueur in many ostensibly Christian societies, such as Brazil.
Homosexual intercourse is prevalent in the Muslim world (believe it or not), commonplace in the Hindu world, and rampant on the Dark Continent.
In the case of hemophilia the decrease has been 67% despite the fact that 90% of hemophiliacs are supposed to be HIV positive.
Make HIV sound like a treatment for the condition!
