Dubbed "the wise men," they were mostly Establishment figures--bankers, lawyers, and diplomats who had attended East Coast prep schools and Ivy League colleges.
Probably the best reason imaginable to EXCLUDE someone from a list of advisory "wise men." These are the same types of "wise men" as those who gave us the wonderful advice that led to such "successes" as Vietnam and the War on Poverty.
