Well as much as a few weeks ago I wanted an airport rally with 30,000 flags waving in the breeze, this might indeed be the best option.
Think about it. Bush sent a letter. He didn't "take time from running the war" to campaign, as we all know and have discussed ad nauseum that the impeached rapist would have done.
This mailing, the NRA mailing, with the races in a statistical dead heat, just might do it.
People WILL open a letter from the President. They WILL associate it with patriotism, the flag and hopefully the Republican ticket. This may be all it takes to bring the wandering flock back into the fold (forget Holton and Rhodes, they were lost to the GOP years ago).
We've got a week to know if this will help. I'd sure like to see a poll with the numbers even (without the margin of error).
