Thanks for the ping. I have always admired Sullivan's honesty even though we are political opposites. This is a great article. Faith can move mountains and I have no doubt that God placed George Bush here and now for more reasons than we can comprehend. I thank Him for doing so.

It is a good article, however I think he overstates President Bush's proclivity for alcohol in his earlier days.

Everything I have read indicates that President Bush was not a heavy drinker or an alcoholic. I took him to a party back in those days, and I don't specifically remember him having any alcohol to drink.

Thanks for the ping deport.

A good article by Andrew Sullivan.

George W.Bush is trying his best to be the President to all American's and I believe he is succeeding very nicely.

The President may have been dealt a bad hand by Satan on 9-11, but his faith in God, along with his strong character, solid integrity and love of America will enable him to make it through this extremely difficult time.

Thanks deport, YES, I do like Andrew Sullivan. I had my doubts but have liked what he has written lately. That is good enough for me. It is on paper and will come back to haunt him if he does a 1 80. hehehe. I think he started coming around about the time of the election debacle and really was insulted for algore. thanks again.

I've been trying to think of someone -- anyone -- whom I would prefer to have as president in these critical times, and I cannot think of anyone whom I would prefer over President Bush. I am very impressed with Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, and others are doing admirable jobs, but no one has the grit, steely determination, indefatigueability [sp?], and patient memory that Bush has.

I think that I would even trust him over Ronald Reagan in his prime. Reagan's sunny optimism allowed him to be duped by his close "friends" a few too many times. Bush is more hard-headed and distrustful. He never forgets, and he believes in payback.

As long as he agrees with my concept of what justice requires and who and what deserve to be punished, I like that quality in my president.
