You seem to under appreciate the bad consequences that would result from the US nuking Iraq, whether or not Saddam is capable of retaliating.
Recent US military policy has been to minimize US casualties. At high levels in US power structures, the preponderance of thinking regards safety of person as ultimate. They are ready to abandon (our) freedom, (our) constitutional rights, (our) treasure, other people's innocent lives, and their own dignity to preserve personal safety. I think that is the key to figuring out what the US response will be.
Before we proceed to do any serious damage to the perps, we will have to disarm the threat in this country. That could take some time.

I am under no illusions as to the consequences of a US-Iraqi nuclear response.Don't try to put words into my mouth. But there is no indication right now that Saddam is as strong as some of the tin foil hatter's suggest...to make the leap, and its a huge one, that some anthrax outbreaks in small doses means he has the capability to do it in enormous size is idiotic, because either way, he loses. Its lose-lose for him.No nation, certainly not the US, will play chicken, or be expected to do so, with him.

I don't care how much evidence there is of an Iraq connection. The FBI, CIA and NBC ALL say this is from home grown groups AND that there is no connection to AL QUAEDA or Iraq. They SAY this is home grown. You all are crazy. Get a tin foil hat. Listen to your leaders, they know what's best for you. The truth is what they tell you it is. So why don't you lot get on the bandwagon. Go shopping. Buy a car. Don't worry... be happy. This is a new war... any high school chemistry student can make weaponized anthrax with bentonite. He||, I could probably make some in my basement by just consulting "The Joy of Cooking."
