I have a hunch that this has been figured out for a while. AND we are now being told because it's time for us to be told. The confilicting accounts were probably not designed for us, but rather ... our enemies. |

I doubt seriously if President Bush was trying to "avoid blaming this on Iraq" as stated in Post #20. I figure he was awaiting the right time. Now... to figure out why this is the right time !!! |
If the info came from the Bush administration, then I'd say it was because some of our allies, notably Pakistan, may be starting to have cold feet. Or maybe it's time to start the coalition building that will be needed for a strike on Iraq and proof of Iraq's involvement in this terrorism will help a lot toward that aim.
But it may not have come from Bush. It could have come from people affiliated with Daschle or Daschle himself. I'm sure he's being kept up to date on all the developments and it would be awfully hard to keep this one quiet.
When they in concert turned our heads with the notion just maybe we would have a hard time now getting al Qaeda this week, I saw the same made-for-public-consumption news. Keep on it, your hunches are right on, IMO.
The public is very sensitive to news right now and we are being played by both sides.
We can't lose sight of the big picture -- banks, oil, economies, nuclear weapons, governments, and those seeking to become world powers. When we get through all this, a whole lot will have shifted.
