That will never happen, there will always be a need for data encryption, and it will get more sophisticated as time goes by. Companies/governement, as well as consumers will want SSN numbers, credit card numbers, criminal records etc. to be transmitted/stored in an encrypted form. Its for your safety as well as theirs.

Let me be more specific. I'm talking about encryption that the govt doesn't have the backdoor keys to.
