Ok, this is a free for all thread. Come in and take your best shots. I promise I won't delete it or get upset. Get it out of your systems and then we will see if we can solve the problems. There always several sides to any story and several possible solutions to any problem. I'd like to hear them all and I'd like to solve as many problems as we can and get this forum kicking socialist butt again instead of kicking each other. So, please anyone with a complaint or a problem or a possible solution, (moderators, posters, FAB, everyone) please chime in. Thanks, Jim

I did, actually. I understand what you're trying to say. But I think that as a moderator, you have to be on your utmost best behavior at every moment, because there's always gonna be SOMEONE who indeed doesn't get past that first sentence. All they're going to know is that they just saw an Admin Moderator using the words "shit" and "dicks" in a post, and they're not going to like the feeling that if they ever tried something like that, even for the same reasons you just did, they would get in trouble.
(I speak from experience, by the way. I used to be a moderator on some very active Net mailing lists [active by Internet email standards anyway, certainly nothing like FR quantity], and I know what a thankless gig it can be.)

Click on the number that precedes the reply on the self-search screen and it should take your browser directly to the reply in question. There are two numbers. Try them both. One opens in an existing browser window, the other opens in a new window (at least it does for me). Also, click on "Show Full" at the top of that same screen. You may be in for a pleasant surprise if you have not already seen it.
The bin Laden assassination rumor was not posted from an obscure foreign source. It came from the Daily Yomiyuri which is a very respected newspaper. AmericanInTokyo explained it. Why was that first thread pulled? It had an explanation of the source and very clearly labeled it as unsubstantiated rumor?
BTW, the biggest whiners on this forum don't have enough guts to post on this thread.

It's not a question of bandwidth. When people post duplicates, it makes it harder to have a conversation with everyone else.
Some information goes into one thread, some info goes into the other thread, and people end up missing a lot of it.
