GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) -- Rare scientific books written by Charles Darwin were destroyed in a fire that gutted a building at Glasgow University, authorities said Thursday
The blaze broke out Wednesday at the 100-year-old Bower building. No one was injured, and the cause remained under investigation, police said. The lost manuscripts, including a collection of 19th-century volumes on botany, were valued at more than $2.86 million, university officials said.
Damage to the three-story building was estimated at $11.4 million.

I hope that people actually start thinking a bit more about things when they attack evolution. Do you attack biology? Do you attack chemistry? Do you attack physics? Do you attack genetics?
How many of you who deny evolution refuse to use computers, which cannot be built except by using the same scientific theories that enable us to date the Earth at being billions of years old?
How many of you who deny evolution refuse to accept medicine developed through our understanding of the way life functions?
I would bet that none of you truly understand what denial of the fact of evolution actually means. And that saddens me greatly.

This is only true if the events are independent. (Which is an assumption evolution implicitly makes.) For example, suppose you have rolled a pair of dice. The probability that the total is 12 is 1/36. The probability that at least one of the die is a 5 is 11/36. The probability of both is 0.
"God loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten son." And yet he hates so many people so very much that he will burn them while they live and then burn them forever after they die. Odd contradiction that, don't you think?
