If OBL is dead, the myth will die. If he is alive and shows up on a balcony....

Well it doesn't matter one iota if he "is the true Mahdi" or just a skilled poseur, if 100s of millions of death cultists believe he is the Mahdi, then he IS the Mahdi.

One more possibility: put a close double out in public, then shoot him in the head with your own Al Q'aida sniper. Do it on TV. Blame it on the CIA.

Then, have the real OBL show up a few days later with a bandage on his head.

How's that for myth making?

If it was a movie, it would be called...

"Wag the Afghan"

Now, that indeed would be diabolically clever of him. Unless, of course, such events are simply the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. However, my understanding of the scriptures is that the Antichrist is to be a man promising peace, rather than the jihad of OBL.

Travis - RE your post 189 - Liberace and the WWF....very well put ! I suggest that, along with the food drops, the President's e mail pen pals program is another such attempt to influence arab opinion. I am hard pressed to understand the benefits of American kids writing to Qatari children about pom-pom cheerleaders and 300 channel cable. And would such messages make an impact on madarass students, even if they were on-line ?
