if his magic totem the black Kaba rock was turned into a crater, the entire insane death cult might evaporate, having been proved impotent?

Someone posted here the "Five Pillars of Islam", one of which is to make the Hadj pilgrimage at least once to the holy of holies - the black rock - in Mecca. If that's gone, then the basis of the faith is gone. Kind of like the great Wizard of Oz being revealed to be merely the little man behind the curtain. But, as you correctly observe, we are dealing with fanatics who are by definition irrational. It's unlikely they will think this through.

Hey harpseal - I recall reading that the Shiite / Sunni split involves the Mahdi. Each sect thinks theirs will produce the Mahdi and that the other will produce an "anti Mahdi". Does your research confirm this ? If so, it might present an opportunity to once again get them fighting among themselves & make our job easier.

That's why I really wonder if the end of the kaba would mean the end of islam, by shattering the myth of their dark god's omnipotence.

Naturally, I would expect a period of suicidal mania as the death cult went through its death spasms.
