Dan the false prophet who found out he was prophecising on the wrong planet and to the wrong people he was originaly asked to talk to. It's got to be crushing to find that you have been wishing good luck to a coconut tree for all your life indeed.

I was looking forward to reading this article.....but I couldn't go any farther than this:"Tom Brokaw and Peter Jennings have proven themselves excellent leaders of the respective news divisions of NBC and ABC."

Great piece. However, if you want news for adults, I recommend catching the evening feeds from both ITN and BBC World. Do it for a week and I promise you will never feel the urge to look in on Brokaw, Jennings or Rather. In fact, if you do go back after a couple of weeks, you will not be able to handle the glitzy format of NBCABCCBS.

President Bush has only to tell him where to go.

Talk about your classical straight lines.  This one is way too easy.  Like taking candy from a baby.

Oops, wrong! Light years IS a measure of distance, the distance light travels in one year (you can look it up!).

...many network news anchors have distinguished themselves as serious, dignified and intelligent journalists.

Name one (outside of Brit Hume).

The planet URANUS as photographed by the Hubble Space Telescope, 1998.
The bright red spot at about the 2 o'clock position on Uranus is known as "Journistan".
This is an unusually hot, gas-filled region where most liberal journalists in the universe are spawned.
Scientists theorize that the gaseous matter in this area is generated by fecal matter of unknown origin.

This strikes me as more of a hit piece on patriotism...

Itchy trigger finger there eh cal?

ANY criticism the captain gets is richly deserved IMO. The fact that this Burns guy missed the call on the other two blind mice is curious though. I wonder about HIS planet of origin, too. Surely he doesn't believe that Tommy and Petah are actually doing yeoman's jobs at their teleprompters......or does he?

Dan should have learned from Bubba, during those few moments that Dan's lips were puckered against Clinton's butt, how to bite the lower lip, go from laughter to tears in one step when he spots the camera, and taking credit for things he had nothing to do with......Dan didn't need any help from Bubba on lying with a straight face.

You are right...Jennings..Brokaw...PROFESSIONAL????? Brokaw said of Bush just as he took the megaphone at ground zero,"He made a fortune in baseball." ...Why did he have to say that at that moment, or any moment? Hillary was there too...Brokaw didn't say,"She made millions with a book deal."
