ANTHRAX PROBE SHIFTS TO HOMEGROWN HATE GROUPS

Ultra-right-wing organizations - including a particular West Coast group - have become a key focus of the massive federal investigation into the murderous Anthrax attacks, The Post has learned.

Investigators have been zeroing in on members of several anti-government hate groups that they believe have obtained or attempted to get the deadly bacteria from several U.S.-based laboratories before it surfaced in Florida, Washington and New York this month.

It does pay to know how to bluff, to bunt and to steal bases, and to sacrifice, too. Chess is a good game to know, but Americans know baseball and poker.

This is going to take a very long while to set up, and if so, we can expect that when the bluff doesn't work anymore, we might get hit hard here. Which may be why Cheney and Bush keep saying -every once in a while - that we will have more casualties here at home than overseas. If it is state-sponsored, we can be sure there will be a moment when the state or states in question won't have much to lose when we act. Hopefully we're not all bluff.

I am a board-certified Infectious Diseases physician with training in medical microbiology.

There is insufficient information in the public domain, including CDC briefings to physicians, to draw any conclusions about either the strain(s) or the degree of "weaponization" of the recent anthrax cases.

It's frustrating, but those are the facts. The rest is speculation.

This garbage has Hillary's fingerprints all over it.

Good points; the so-called abortion center 'anthrax' was just fabrication - like the inuendo in these recent articles. And yes, it- and some of the hoax cases- do reek of Hillary or Carville. Perhaps she is smarting from being an outcast, and trying to deflect from her association with the Puerto Rican terrorists, etc.

Let's ask Robert Byrd (D-Va)

Sen. Byrd is from West Virginia.

Perhaps you are thinking of the late Sen. Harry F. Byrd. He was from Virginia and in fact has a highway in the Old Dominion named for him.

"Daschle represents the government, and the government is what the right-wing groups hate," a source said."

Aren't there left-wing groups that hate the government? Weren't those left-wing groups rioting at the IMF meetings in Italy, Seattle and Washington, D.C.? Seems to me that those groups are a good place to start looking.

Come on.... please.... the media will say anything or write anything to turn this situation around. Bush said he does not have evidence but it strongly suggest this anthrax stuff is coming from Bin Laden's group. I think Bush knows more details than this newspaper.

But it just couldn't be Ultra-Left-wing Enviromentalist groups who demand an 80% or more reduction in the worlds population.

These are the same people that insist that the Unibomber was a right-winger.

My gut tells me that ultra-left anarchists are the most likely source for the anthrax attacks. The same groups that organized riots in Seattle, Quebec City, and around the world should be investigated. Here is what they believe in:

"Anarchism is a political theory that aims to create a society which is without political, economic or social hierarchies. Anarchists maintain that anarchy, the absence of rulers, is a viable form of social system and so work for the maximisation of individual liberty and social equality. They see the goals of liberty and equality as mutually self-supporting."

Van Zandt is the guy who writes puff pieces for the Fibbies bragging about their great work in catching the Unabomber (whose brother turned him in) and getting McVeigh within a few hours (the Oklahoma State Police caught him). He is a paid hack who defends the Federal Baby Incinerators no matter what they have botched.

I note the failure to name names.

Most recently I realized that the word 'virtually' marks a likely lie. This NYP news (NOT) makes it even more clear that an allegation or the word 'allegedly' marks too a likely lie.

Hugh, I'm sending this to you since we have spoken on the phone and I know you to be a reasonable person.

I certainly hope that if it is domestic, it is a left-wing group. Unfortunately, a number of clues point in the other direction.

Foremost is the issue of targets. The anthrax letters were sent to left-wing media outlets and a leading Democrat. There is belief that the letter that infected the House side of the capitoil went to Gephardt. There have been no infections at DOD, CIA, FBI, State, Fort Bragg, etc., the places left-wingers might send such letters.

All the talk about weaponized anthrax or the source of the bacteria is premature. There is not enough known yet to pinpoint a specific source. That may come later or if it's known now, it's not being released to public. If there was ever a case where the public did not have a need to know all details immediately, inorder to not tell the perps as well, this is it.

Of course, this target selection could all be disinformatziatta by perps to derail investigation, or could be media leaks designed to confuse perps.

The reality here speaks to the true duty of an intelligence officer. It's his (or her, how PC I am this AM) to tell the commander, not what the enemy will do but what the enemy is capable of doing. Unfortunately, a large range of groups, left and right, domestic and foreign, including some well known right-wing groups, are capable of this.

As much as some FReepers hate the FBI, I'd rather have them chasing the perp than Michael Rivero or A-Bert!!!

The sources declined to name the hate groups being eyed in the investigation or the laboratories where the anthrax may have been obtained or milled.

Of course not, because this source is not real or just his/her thoughts inside the FBI swing left. Did they seem to forget that a letter was on the way to the White House? Now the liberal media will start going crazy with this story, it would be nice when it backfires in their face.

Clearly, we are headed for global government and suppression of religious and conservative values in the name of peace and security. Bush and his cronies have found a use for bin Laden.

On "Fox and Friends" this morning it was said the US expert in Biological weapons thought the letter sent to Daschle was altered and refined, unlike other letters which led him to believe some country was involved. So why the fixation on right wing wackos? Many groups don't like everything the government does.

Marxists hate our government, and are looking for a vanguard to spur the people to overthrow our government.

I will bet anyone a six-pack of brew that IF it turns out to be a domestic group being responsible, it will turn out to be a far-left group.

Any takers?

Personally I think this is all WTC related but I'm in for a 6 pack if it turns out to be domestic. Guinness if I'm right.
