That was very funny actually. Cheers.

Actually, since next year I will be teaching in Compton, CA, through Teach for America, Decline and Fall has recently become my favorite Waugh novel.

I find Brideshead Revisted very sad and difficult to get through, although obviously brilliant.

The only "Decline And Fall" I ever read was "Decline And Fall of the Roman Empire" by Gibbons but what do I know since I am one of those terribly impolite yahoo populist conservatives. Oh, did I mention that it was the unabridged edition? I read it while traipsing around Europe. And remember, I said it was the UNABRIDGED edition (in the original Latin).

Instead of writing off the cops and firemen who booed Hillary as "populists" (I wonder why you just don't say low class), maybe you should ask yourself why they decided to boo her. I'll give you a hint: cops and firemen that I have met tend to be socially conservative and treat women with more respect than a lot of other men who are a lot higher up on the socio-economic scale.
