I'm surprised that he got a clearance in the first place. When I was an MP one of the members of my squad married a West German. He was denied a security clearance because his wife had relatives living in East Germany.
He was thrilled, without a secuity clearance he couldn't be assigned guard duty. There are Mp companies that do nothing but watch the grass grow as they guard ammo dumps.
