Tongue-in-cheek(?) I've often described myself as a political-refugee-from-the-socialist-democracy-of-Canada. INS didn't buy it though. And no amnesty or waived fees for me, either. And the ClintonGoReno cartel didn't really inspire me to stand on line in downtown L.A.

 

But I'll do it now.

It's really true, Merc, that some of the good 'Americans' ARE Canadians . . .

I've rambled from BC to Nova Scotia, and always felt a political kinship with Canucks; Therefore, the essay fascinated me.

The Canadian s seem to be 'spectators' of their own federal government, and are far from being subjugated by it.

I expect Western Canada to secede -- before Quebec , and I hope Americans will support them if they do. I know I will.

My brother scored two goals in his first game in the NHL at the Forum. It was incredible watching it live on Hockey Night in Canada. It's moments like that that makes me proud to be a Canuck!
