I saw nothing about returning the candy in the article. So what's the deal?

I posted a link in post #31. That link will take you to a local, conservative radio person. He apparently made a lot of calls and found out some details. According to at least one caller (didn't catch the whole show), the candy was returned, "inspected" by some branch of the health department, and since they didn't see any holes in the bags, THE CANDY WAS PUT BACK ON THE SHELF!

I heard about that too, but I thought it was a different case, also involving ME.
