Hope it gets off the ground OK! Are there any good sites for viewing satellite imagery at present?

My personal favorite is The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory which studies the sun. You can also find some of the same pics, though as raw data in b/w, from The Naval Observatory.(NOTE: The C1 camera is no longer in use, only c2, c3, and EIT.)

There's also a brand new GOES sat for soft xrays of the sun at GOES Solar X-ray Imager that just came online last month or the Yohkoh Solar Observatory with soft x-rays also. If you're interested in satellite pics of the Earth you'll find a lot more options. Most are weather sats and you can quite a few worldwide if you run an internet search, but I recommend GOES Interactive Weather Sat. Imagery or NASA's Visible Earth which is a searchable directory of images.
