I heard and saw Ollie North, on FOX News, say eight. That was in the heated early minutes/hours. I also saw or heard the eleven figure too, just can't remember where.

The intelligence leak was only about 30 people on "the mission," which ought to indicate only another two or at most three planes, not another seven (needed to make a total of 11.)

My recollection is that eleven was the number of planes to be blown up in mid-air in the plot Ramsi Yousef, one of the original WTC bombers, was working on when he was captured. Then again, perhaps 11 really is some kind of magic number for these creeps.
