Saudi Arabia has some nice lighted highways and some impressive public buildings, but they have nothing to show for controlling black gold for the last 30 years (kinda like South Africa and diamonds). The sooner we advance technology and tap ANWAR, the sooner we can ignore the mid-east. 3rd world countries will continue to pursue nukes, hence the need for NMD, but the oceans are still our best defense for the next 10-20 years.
