Who's behind the anthrax scare?

Anthrax. That word has dominated the news for the past five days.

It ought to suggest another word that probably won't dominate the news anytime soon but may before this war against global terrorism is over: Iraq. The reason: The anthrax that was mailed to American Media in Boca Raton, Fla., and to NBC and ABC News in New York could have come from Iraq.

When the first–and so far only–anthrax death was announced, there was speculation that it might not be the work of terrorists. Copycat criminals, some said; freelancers; even, suggested a former Clinton administration appointee, right-wingers (they hate the press, you see). But the second anthrax case made it seem overwhelmingly likely that this is the work of terrorists.

And the sending of powder that did not test positive for anthrax to the New York Times makes it seem more likely. Terrorists with a limited supply of anthrax could produce far more panic and unease by sending envelopes of innocuous talcum powder as well.

This would be a shrewd leveraging of resources, just as the September 11 terrorists leveraged the use of box cutters to take over airliners full of jet fuel. The evidence suggests that both the NBC anthrax and the New York Times powder arrived in envelopes postmarked Trenton, N.J.

Certainly the anthrax attacks have caused some panic and much fear among the media and the public. More than warranted: Anthrax can easily be treated by antibiotics, which are readily available. As Senator Bill Frist, a physician, says, "No one now should die of anthrax."

One possible source of the anthrax is Iraq, which was forced by weapons inspectors to admit that it had produced 160 gallons of the substance. September 11 hijacker Mohammed Atta is known to have met twice in Prague with an Iraqi intelligence official, once just before flying to the United States.

American Media is located near where Atta and other hijackers lived in Florida, and its publication the National Enquirer ran an article claiming that bin Laden hated America because an American prostitute ridiculed his small penis. Evidently, chemical tests cannot determine whether the anthrax came from Iraq's stockpiles, but there may be other evidence that can.

Even if the government determines that Iraq was behind the anthrax attacks, though, it probably will not–and should not–say so. Similarly, the government shouldn't say whether fingerprint evidence almost certainly available in Britain determines (as Laurie Mylroie has persuasively argued it could) that Ramzi Yussef, the mastermind of the February 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, was an Iraqi agent.

Either finding would justify an attack on Iraq and the destruction of Saddam Hussein's regime. But we are evidently not ready to do that while we are militarily involved in Afghanistan, and we should not give Saddam advance notice. Let him wonder what we are going to do next.

Does anyone know about what date Frist made this statement? Could be an indication why he has received an anthrax laced letter.

Let me see. Sadam is supposed to have given Atta the stuff that may kill 30 people so he should be taken out.

Saudi arabia gave bin laden the millions to kill 6,000 of us, and nothing is to be done.

Let me turn the tables and tell the same story with the roles of Saudi Arabia and the United states reversed. The son of a very rich family in the United States turns out bad. Thee grandson of a very rich American inherits 50 million dollars but he hates Muslims. He is found to have killed several muslims in Saudi Arabian embassies around the world. This rich American says all Muslims are evil, and Jesus told him to kill all Muslims. So the United states government as punishment tells the Muslim hater he must leave the United States and go to Canada. But we let him take his 50 million with him. So he kills 17 muslims in a Saudi navey ship but neither Canada or the United states do anything about it. Mostly our people dance in the street the news he has killed Muslims.

Do you suppose the Saudis would be a bit angry that five years after we only expelled him, he kills 6,000 Saudi Citizens. Then when the Saudis try to get Canada to extadite him they say no way. Them we tell the Saudis they could not use Detroit as a base to try to pick im up in Windsor Canada because Americans support killing Muslims.

Well that is a our good friend Saudi Arabia. The best of our Islamic friends. We went after Sadam because he is worse than the Saudis and he is.

Aren't you so glad we believe in diversity. Do you suppose some Saudi girls would take off their veils to support the poor American girls who happened to be in Saudi when our American bad guy killed the 6,000 Saudis?

That is the flip side of the coin.

A nation that will not kill its enemies, will by killed by its enemies.

Have a nice funeral.

vrwc54? as in VRWC?

Well you might be on to the BIG NEWS emerging issue about to hit the public again. I see Clinton X-42 is to give a speech shortly -- will he be the first one to break the big news and come out with the charge?

With a few exceptions the targets of this attack are being considered by various people to be a Right Wing Conspiracy though no one calls it Vast as yet. Who -- Radio personality Mike Gallagher raised that possibility this morning. And likewise Sen. Chris Dodd in an interview on Imus this morning came with in a hair's beadth of disclosing what he described as -- what his suspicions point to, but he does not want to say -- now that Dan Rather, a liberal, was targeted.

What is happening now? Well, there was an over-reaction in the media and Congress that led to the notion of describing the anthrax as a refined military version. Then they backed off to say the found anthrax is characterized as only ordinary anthrax that has no unusual resistance to antibiotics like a developed weapon would likely have. The Russians are better at refining anthrax than that found so far. This in turn made these amateur investigators start to draw conclusions that maybe it is homegrown by people in the U.S., perhaps political opponents. Militias also are now being mentioned in other discussions. And all the bogeymen of the left are being sprung to life as fast as possible.

Beware the bogeyman of the VRWC.

..which brings up an interesting point.

There is a play list, any news junky has got to notice a pattern by now.

First it sprouts on the fringe avant-guard of the cia/presstitute media like the overnight Art "the spook" mediums then spreadslike wildfire to the mainstream sloppy whores . . . , "this is Tom Brøokwhoaåå!".

It was actually amazingly insightful to watch the MSNBC infobabe this morning get hot off the wire and read carefully looking down so as not to make a mistake and get every word just right -- that Dan Rather's office had anthrax. And with huge seriousness like the world was ending. Such gratuitous over-concern betrays the bias of the media.
