Interesting pap, dwbh...no wonder yer thinkin' is as warped as it appears to be if you believe all that nonsense.

"In the 20th century, however, a very consistent pattern has emerged at the national level in America. Whenever weaker members of our society--or in the world at large-- have been bullied by more powerful groups, if either party has gone to the aide of the oppressed, it has been the "Liberal" party, while the "Conservative" party could be counted on to do all in its power to preserve (or "conserve") the power and privileges of the rich and the powerful."

No time to go thru and point out the ridiculousness of the entire link, so let me concentrate briefly on this item. Americans are--and have always been--a very generous people, but with the Growth of the Federal Leviathan due to FDR's Collectivism and LBJ's horrid and un-Constitutional "Great Society" programs, Americans have had the Joy of Charity stripped from their Daily Lives by an over-reaching Federal Guv'ment that LIED and said it had all the answers. This guy tries to say that it is the "Liberal" Party that has gone to the aid of the oppressed, when in fact, these Collectivist Federal BureaucRATS have simply used the Lower Class to further the Left's insatiable Lust Fer Power and Money. Enslaving the Blacks and Browns and Injuns (yep...I'm part-Injun) with subsistence-level Federal Handouts while simultaneously destroying their Educational Opportunities with the BRAIN-DEAD Teacher's Unions and the Dept. Of Education is not honorable or kind...IT IS EVIL!!!!!!! Jesus was never EVIL, but the Left most assuredly is...and I won't even venture into the Abortion Question, in which Lib'rals find sooo much joy in wantonly SLAGHTERING the weakest and most defenseless amongst us!!

SHEEESH, Lefty, I know yer tryin' yer durnedest to make some sense; however, in defending Lib'ralism and the ever-expanding Federal leviathan and the Rapin', Mass-Murderin', Traitorous Bill Clinton, you are simply defending the indefensible!!!

I hope you'll eventually wake up to the futility of your arguments, buddy, I really do (for yer kids' sakes if nothing else!!)

Yes, Americans have always been a generous people, but at no time in our history has generosity alone been enough to sustain those of us who are more unfortunate. Did you know that charitable contributions were at an all-time high in 1932? A full 1% of people's incomes on average were being donated to charitable contributions at the time. One percent! That is a *huge* number, and that was mainly encouraged by President Hoover, trying to exhort people to pick themselves up by their bootstraps to get out of the Great Depression. Well, it didn't work. We were in a depression for nearly ten more years despite people's benevolence.

And FDR never said he had all the answers...in fact, he admitted when he was elected that he didn't know how to get out of this mess (this was '33) and that he would just try new things, because we can't make things any worse. This is where the "collectivism" you complain about comes from, and it's interesting to note that many of FDR's programs lasted well past the Great Depression, and some are still around today. I have no idea on what basis you claim that what FDR and LBJ did were "unconstitutional". If they are "unconstitutional", then why hasn't their constitutionality been challenged by some enterprising Ken Starr wannabe? We've had plenty of GOP administrations since then that could've taken them on.

This guy tries to say that it is the "Liberal" Party that has gone to the aid of the oppressed, when in fact, these Collectivist Federal BureaucRATS have simply used the Lower Class to further the Left's insatiable Lust Fer Power and Money. People here are very quick with conspiracy theories about everyone on the Left being power-hungry criminals. Truthfully, we have our share of the same type of conspiracy theories about the Right on our side. But the truth is that the vast majority of our lawmakers, both left and right, are sincerely trying to help the country. They just have two radically different theories about how to do it. However, I do see it as more of a common PR practice for the Right to pick and choose facets of a single leftist lawmaker (Clinton, Daschle, or whoever is Rush's flavor of the week) and use it to extrapolate about every one on the Left, than the Left doing the same thing to the Right.

This has probably helped to shape many people's views on welfare. They hear a story on Rush about a welfare mom who bought cocaine with her WIC money, and they just assume that all people on welfare are nothing more than leeches. They completely ignore the 99.9% of people who use welfare to buy evil, selfish things like milk and baby food. They completely ignore the vast majority of people on welfare who desperately want to get off of welfare, because relying on welfare makes you piss-poor and is pretty embarrassing. Generalizing about one or two bad stories makes it easier to convince people to trash the whole welfare system, rather than take the time to fix loopholes that might cause this isolated case. Same for the teachers' unions too. If you're trying to prove that 100% of people who work for the DoE or who live on the dole are "EVIL", as you so mildly put it, you need to have overwhelming evidence that this is true, not just isolated evidence. Just because a solution sounds simple doesn't mean it's the right decision.

Jesus was never EVIL, but the Left most assuredly is...and I won't even venture into the Abortion Question, in which Lib'rals find sooo much joy in wantonly SLAGHTERING the weakest and most defenseless amongst us!!

Well, OK. I don't share his views on abortion -- I think God made it pretty clear that "thou shalt not kill." So I'm not going to defend that part of the piece. But look at the spirit of Jesus teachings and compare it to liberal philosophy: a concern for the well-being of others above your own concerns. As the piece said, it is inconsequential to compare Jesus' teaching to contemporary politics, but I certainly see a better reflection of Jesus in modern Democrats than I do Republicans. But if you can prove me wrong, fire away.
