Too bad she did not live to see her success here. But, perhaps she sees it from wherever she is now. May she rest in peace.

Barbara was such a gracious lady. Many freepers received nice little emails from her when they praised her first book. That shows her character. We were already buying her book in droves, she was undoubtedly busy, she could have written a generic thank you or nothing at all as many on the nation stage do. But Barbara wanted to make her fans feel special. And she did.

Mine will be here tomorrow. It will probably take me several days to get past the first few pages (boo-hoo alert, I have kleenex).

I was poring over my manuscript of a children's book titled "The Ant & The Hyrax". I guess the title will have to be changed. Too bad, too. The hyrax is a small brown mammal that lives in the rocky hills of Saudi Arabia and Africa. It has an ability to squeeze into rock crevices to escape prey. The name of the country of Spain was derived from the word Ishapan, which means "land of the hyraxes." And the closest relation to the elephant (90% DNA match) is the hyrax.

I preordered it too - 2 weeks before 9 11 and just checked my Amazon account and learned nothing....except not published yet and no info on when it will be shipped....RATS! This will be the first time I have not been pleased with Amazon.com....oh well nothing I can do but wait it out.

I lookk forward to getting her book. I am going to Barnes Nobel for mine too.Thanks for the ping about the book.

Oops! Maybe you can find a similar animal that will serve the same purpose in your storyline? I don't
know your storyline, but from the sound of your posts, it's probably not a good idea to bring up the hyrax's relatives, the GOP heffalumps (TOO many Pooh videos!), as being animals hiding in crevices! Of course, I would enjoy seeing how an elephant might squish himself into a rocky crevice and actually remain inconscipuous! *G* Keep us posted, if you would? Sounds interesting!!
May the dreaded WB not cross your path until you have finished your book! ;-}
And, may the Guardian Angel of FReeper Success, guide your pen! (Metaphorically, if nothing else!) Break a -- "Bic?"
FRegards,
Sharon

God bless Barbara Olson! Tragic that she is gone and the Clinton scum are still in the public eye. Hopefully this book will finally make some fools see the light. Great Christmas gift....
To: ChaseR
Yes, she is a heroine. Now, she's an angel looking out for this country!

Wasn't she an exceptional person in that way? And soooo many others! I have felt so unvelievably lost and knocked off-center by the news of her tragic, but heroic, demise.
I know many share the same sentiment, and I'm reminded of a song by Bread -- "I would give anything I own . . . Just to have you, back again!"
After a bunch of folks have the book, is there a thread on FR for book discussions? I'd love to talk about her book with other FReepers who have read it!
Anyone else interested?? (Please?!!) Thanks to all of you! You're the BEST! ;-}
