Reuters Photo
The FBI released this photo on October 16, 2001 showing the letters that were sent to NBC in New York and to Sen. Tom Daschle's office on Capitol Hill and were found to contain the anthrax bacteria. Anthrax was confirmed in the letter opened on October 15 in Daschle's office, but so far none of the staff in that office has tested positive for exposure to the potentially deadly bacteria, Capitol police said. it couldn't have been from FR because Brokaw and Daschle are spelled wrong.

Now, if the letters had been addressed to "looser", or "your", or "it's", that would have been a different matter!

Don't know if there's a Greendale School there, but Franklin Park is halfway between Rutgers University and Princeton.

Not that the letter necessarily originated there. But it could be served by Trenton P.O.

Both mailed from Trenton NJ...armpit of NYC.

Actually, Trenton is more the armpit of Philadelphia.

Yes, exactly. Draftsman or engineering. But not very neat like some well-trained professionals. I have printed almost like that all my life but my style is different. I'm not trained in drafting but when I learned to print that way I copied the samples in school. I probably picked up my technique for doing smaller caps where lower case should be from my engineer father (now deceased).

The reason I picked up on that printing is that I don't think most people print like that. Do women tend to print like that? I'm guessing that the perp was male.

You indicated there were pictures released of the letter to Florida? I haven't heard that. Anyone have a link to a picture of this letter?

OBL might be a smart cookie, but his agents seem to be idiots who follow his instructions well enough, but also do lots of other dumb things that call attention to themselves, or reveal thier methods etc.

I must say that anthrax is proving to be a far less effective weapon of mass destruction than I thought it would be.

It looks like the address is near the corner of Piedmont and 8th St. North of downtown Atlanta, not too far from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Anyone from Atlanta know who lives in that house?

The secons batch looks like it was written by someone whose first "hand" is Arabic. The numerals in the zip are a dead giveaway.

As for the slanting address -- who wants to bet the guy was writing with his opposite hand?

It could just be someone unaccustomed to writing in English. Also, coincidentally, isn't Arabic written right to left, as Hebrew is? (This could account for the odd slant.)

Yup. Had that letter been "returned", it's possible that an entire class of students could have opened it and released the anthrax therein.

I did not know that if the letter was returned, it would have been opened by the students, my reasonable guess is that it would have been opened by the teacher/principal of that grade school...

I agree...the soft loopy "S" fits more into their type of handwriting. All other letters on the envelope are very angled and stick like...almost painfully un-natural. The person is an obvious southpaw...all the "lefties" here in my office have the same drifting handwriting...

It looks child-like to me - all caps and written very big. Why didn't they print the address on a computer, so the handwriting could not be traced?

Nothing about it seems sophisticated. Contrast that with the ability to produce anthrax spores. This seems to me like the hijackings--a couple of guys in the "know" and a bunch of dupes to carry out the plan. They probably handled this stuff without knowing what it was. Expect some more of these terrorists to turn up dead.

Also, it couldn't have been from FR because Brokaw and Daschle are spelled wrong. Right. Any Freeper would know that the correct spellings are D'asshole and Brokenjaw.

As if any Freeper would live in NJ with terrorists and democrats.

Looks like the same source..the printing and the #2 ,the use of Capital letters where they should be lower case..

Thats distrubing... why would arab terrorists send the democratic leader anthrax in the hopes he'd return it to a school -- so it might be seen as a Daschle sending a grade school anthrax?

I agree about the 2 looking arabic -- but I wonder why they are targeting the people that let them roam free for 8 years? I suppose they'd hate liberals a lot more than conservatives for moral grounds...
