People's respect for a president is earned, not given. Clinton was a rapist and a philanderer. He lived large on our tax dollars for eight years all the while meticulously subordinating the interests of America to his own personal and selfish agendas. That this man presided over America for two full terms is a scarring insult to our nation. Offering him any measure of respect simply on account of his managing to win the presidency only compounds that insult. Clinton shamed America countless times and in countless ways during his presidency. Let's not protract that shame now by pretending he wasn't vile and corrupt enough for us to withhold the respect we customarily give our presidents.
