It's a sad statement about government education when Dims teachers and educators can't understand the First Amendment. They only voted to remove the ban to save their sorry arses.

See, I knew Madison wasn't bad. The people of that fine city attacked the school board hijackers of the Pledge and won!

They are starting to feel the heat, here is a copy of an email recieved by me from Wisconsin:

Dear Mr. ...:

Thank you for contacting us regarding the Madison Metro School District's recent decision. This action has had a negative effect on the reputation on the city of Madison and our state. We want you to know that due to overwhelming opposition and public outcry, the school board has temporarily rescinded their decision and will reconsider it on Monday, October 15th. We expect it to be overturned.

Governor Scott McCallum and many other officials have gone on public record opposing the school board's decision.

Despite this regrettable incident, Madisonians, and the citizens of Wisconsin, have deep consciences and embrace all that our great nation - and our American symbols - stand for. Please know, the views of this small minority do not reflect the sentiment of the entire state.

Wisconsin prides itself on extending a sincere and heartfelt welcome to all its visitors and is known for its warm, friendly people. I hope you will reconsider your vacation options and visit Wisconsin in the future.

Sincerely,
Lisa Marshall

Before the meeting started, the crowd spontaneously began reciting the pledge, with the majority standing as some scattered boos were heard

Amazing. Who ARE these people. I respect their right to disagree, but sheesh!

Laura Brown, a Madison resident, said it was unfair to divide students with different beliefs on the issue of the pledge

It would be a shame to divide the 2 students from the 1800 patriotic students, wouldn't it? (Sarcasm off)It's time these leftists (such as the school board) get their attitudes adjusted. Usually it's the teachers that love the left and the administrators love the right but it sounds reversed here. I think they still don't get it, no words to the National Anthem, only instrumental (can the students hum?).I hope the recall movement is successful..

So now the collectivist, tax-funded, coercive, state-run, socialist government schools of Madison will be teaching "patriotism" for 15 seconds each morning! Whoopee!

Booing the Pledge of Allegiance? Now that takes it too far. You can sit there and shut up if you don't won't to participate, but don't dare spit on our flag.

Does this mean we can replace the flag Madison removed from a cemetary last Febuary?

Too late!!! Recall them all and give the students a real lesson in Civics for a change. You live in this country you support it. Yes change can come, but at a price. They better have strong convictions and KNOW they are right rather than stuffing their thoughts down everyones throat without consequences.

Pledge ban gone? Great!

Now it's time to remove the idiots who voted for it in the first place. They have proven themselves unworthy of the public's trust, and might show similarly poor judgement in the future. Reversing the ban isn't enough. They should resign, or be impeached/recalled/voted out of office, whichever can happen quickest.

'For a few minutes every morning, everyone joins in an exercise that I believe binds us together,'' board member Ray Allen said. ''I don't think the pledge is about religion. I think it is a commitment to our democracy.''

This board member THINKS that the pledge is a commitment to our democracy? And he is a member of the school board? Lord help us!!!!!

We routed the commies on their own home turf. When we come at them in force, they're too afraid to even put up a defense. Let's keep it up. This is one victory. Now we've got a war to win.

"...board member Ray Allen said. ''I don't think the pledge is about religion. I think it is a commitment to our democracy.''

This "politically correct" cop out on the question of the Pledge of Allegiance's inclusion of the phrase "under God" needs to be exposed for what it is: a revisionist view of America's philosophical foundations.

For too long, the revisionists have perpetrated their brand of tyranny, ignoring the very real fact that had it not been for the ideas of liberty expressed in the Declaration of Independence, they would not possess the liberty to attempt to rewrite America's historical foundations!

Unlike the philosophy of their mind controlling brand of "democracy," the Founders understood that real liberty is rooted in a belief that 'the God who gave us life gave us liberty at the same time,' (Jefferson) or, in the words of the Declaration, 'All men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.'

American liberty was not rooted in the kind of "pablum" fed to us by the ACLU and those who would claim to be "protecting" us by ignoring the roots of American liberty.

These 20th Century mind controllers, when under the pressures of this School Board today, condescendingly agree to 'allow' the name of God to be used, all the while claiming that it has no meaning other than as a 'commitment to our democracy' (another 20th Century myth which ignores the protections built into our Constitution through a republican form of government).

It is time for Americans to re-read their Declaration of Independence, with its references to the source of their rights (a Creator), their law (Laws of Nature and of Nature's God), their liberty (ongoing Divine Providence), and their ultimate accountability (a Supreme Judge of the World). If there's any doubt then about their inheritance of liberty from this body of thought, then they might read the extensive writings of the Adamses, Jefferson, Madison, and the signers of our Declaration of Independence and Constitution. Once Americans read for themselves the plain common sense of these wise founders of America's constitutional government, they will not buy into the counterfeit ideas perpetrated upon them by the revisionists who claim to see danger at the mention of the name of God.

Thank God! the people have spoken. I used to live in Madison and called it my second home. However, on my last return visit, I didn't even recognize it. Madison had changed so much that it didn't look like the pristine magical city I once knew. It was cluttered with trash, students (by the backpaks and books they carried) looked unwashed and sullen, and soooo many cluttered "businesses" had erupted everywhere with no thought to the beauty of the lakes around it. It was very sad to see.

Too late. They should still be thrown out. According to an article yesterday, only two of the villains are subject to recall because of the dates of their election. What do you want to bet that the lone holdout is NOT subject to recall at this time?

I would like to reiterate my observation in a previous post to this site that, as Americans, we must redirect our attention to our Founding Documents and the writings of America's Founders in order to intelligently rebut the arguments of these 20th and 21st Century purveyors of tyranny over the minds of men, women, and children. They know what they're about! And it's not freedom!

American liberty was conceived and birthed by men and women whose devotion to liberty came out of their faith that a Creator (Supreme Being) had given them life, rights, and a pattern of laws which, if followed, would ensure the 'blessings of liberty.'

The mind controllers of our time have almost successfully censored the founding ideas from our nation's textbooks and public discourse. As I said above,

This is a delightful example of what happens when the actions of the leftist, PC crowd are exposed to public view. Their positions don't hold up very well under public scrutiny.

It comes as no surprise to the average Freeper that conservative activism is more effective than liberal activism because it is based in fact and reason.
