A "Moderate" American Muslim Parent's View (Dems., don't you dare blame the Right!)

Although as Muslim parents and mentors we must always be cognizant of the welfare of our Muslim youth; while we should always be watchful over their development, the recent wave of school violence and the rise in teenage suicide and other destructive forms of immoral and deviant behavior should sound an alarm in the Muslim community. This alarm should indeed be a wake-up call to so many of us who have grown lax and seriously deficient in our responsibilities towards our youth. It should call us to action on at least three critical fronts:

1. We must make a pledge to never send our children to the schools of the kuffar. We must remove our children from these schools and the cesspool of immorality and deviance that they have become. We must do this at all costs. Make whatever sacrifice that needs to be made to send them to the Muslim school. If money and the lack thereof is an issue then we must educate them at home. It is better that they be educated at home or at the Muslim school and not have access to some of the amenities that are available in the kuffar school then to place them in the hands of the kufr school system and gamble with the moral and social welfare of our children.

Remember that our children didn't ask to be born. They are here by Allah's permission; and it is Allah that has entrusted us with rearing them in the ways of the Prophet (saaws) His Companions, and those Righteous Predecessors (ra) so that they may be guided aright and saved from the Fire. Many of our youth were uprooted from their native lands and brought to live in and be raised in this jahiliyyah by their parents. Many of them have parents who made hijrah from (darul-salaam) Muslim lands to darul-kufr so that they could benefit from the dunya. The painful irony is that while these parents busy themselves so much with hankering after dunya, they neglect the Islamic development of the children. They pacify the children with designer clothes...with expensive gifts, and cars. Meanwhile the children are straying away from Islam...becoming murtad and heading for Hellfire.

We should understand that these public schools are set up and run by our open enemies. The curriculum is set by our open enemies. The policies and procedures is set by our open enemies. Once this is understood then what kind of Muslim would send his/her child to be educated by the enemy of Allah and His Rasul (saaws)?

We must develop and maintain a zero tolerance for sending any Muslim child to play with the Fire that awaits him/her in the enemy's school system. If you have all of your children safely enrolled in the Muslim school then join on with others and sponsor need-based scholarships for other Muslim children to attend the Muslim school. We can ill-afford to sacrifice one Muslim child to the wolves.

2. We must stop spoon-feeding Islam to our youth. We must stop speaking in vague terms and boring them to death with our philosophical verbiage. We must stop simply regurgitating what we heard some "scholar" say especially when so many of these scholars themselves are aloof and out of touch with the realities that are germane to the day to day experiences of Muslim youth. The youth must be made to understand that they are being targeted, why they are being targeted, and by whom. They must be made to understand that the only threat to the New World Order is Islam. And as the inheritors of Islamic leadership they are being targeted by the Zionists and the Christians who intend to corrupt them and take them out of Islam.

We must put the conspiracy evidence before the youth in clear and concise terms and then ask them who are the distributors and producers of the music that they listen to? Who are the producers of the television and movie entertainment that they watch?. Who are the proponents of liberalism and secularism in the society ? Then we must be bold and courageous enough to tell them that these people are the Jews and their Christian co-conspirators.

3. We must maintain a tough, uncompromising, no-nonsense posture towards those unruly youth who have gone astray and have brought shame on the Muslim community. For some of our Muslim youth it would have been better had they died practicing Islam long ago than to continue living in sin and die in a state of kufr and go to the Hellfire. Although no one seems to want to confront it, let alone talk about it, Muslim youth are forming gangs and becoming heavily involved in the illicit drug trade.

I recently confronted one such gang that operates in the pre-dominantly Yemeni community where I teach science and computer classes at the Islamic school. I have observed this gang of thugs selling drugs across the street from the Masjid and the Islamic school. I have seen them spray graffiti on Muslim businesses. One gang symbol that they spray on walls is "A.W.A." and "Arabs with Attitudes" a play on the name of a group of California-based thugs turned "gangster" rappers-"N.W.A. or "N-ggers with Attitudes". This gang of so-called Muslims had begun to hang around the Islamic school and intimidate and beat up some of our Muslim students at the end of classes. I took four witnesses (two students and two adult men from the local community) and walked across the street where the gang was. I told them that I considered all 200 of the students at my school as my own little brothers and sisters and that if any one of them is harmed again I would hold the gang personally responsible. I advised them to spread the word to their other gang members that there was a new "hands-off" policy as far as the welfare of my students. I told them that if they wanted to test me I have brothers who consider the thugs who break the windows of the school and masjid and beat up innocent Muslim youth who are trying to do the right thing in a Muslim school, as Muslim in name only and therefore 'expendable' enemies of the community. I assured them that one-by-one, they would be snatched off the street and taken somewhere where their legs would be broken with baseball bats. Perhaps this posture is extreme for some faint-hearted Muslims, but wasn't it Allah who told us that "amongst your children are enemies of Allah"?

In conclusion, we need to really take a serious look at ourselves and ask the question--- why do we remain in darul-kufr when it is having such a detrimental effect on our children? What motivates us to do what we do? There comes a time when we must re-examine our priorities in life and contemplate our lot in the Hereafter. Is "getting our share of the dunya" worth gambling with our children's future? What does it profit a man to gain the world and lose his soul?

Because I work with the youth on a daily basis I observe them from a vantage point that even their parents don't have the opportunity to do so. I shudder when I reflect on the fact that while it took 400 years of slavery, the introduction of liberalism and the systematic erosion of family values and morals to reduce African-Americans to the level of deviancy that many of them are at today, after just one generation removed from their native lands, America has already corrupted so many immigrant Muslim youth.

Their fathers brought them to this God-forsaken land from Bangladesh while they were little children and now already, a gang of youth in one jamaat have on three occasions broken out the car windows of the Shaikh (who incidentally is also Bengali), because the Shaikh dared to speak against their selling and using of drugs and fornicating with Polish and Serbian girls in the neighborhood. What does this say about this America that Khomeini called the Great Shaitan? What does it say about it's influence on us and our youth? Is hijrah the answer?

For me, hijrah is most definetly the answer. It has now become a mandate and indeed a mission.

I'm homeschooled. I don't think that public schools are my enemy. My parents don't like the public school education. I don't like the dumb peer pressure. I do have friends in the public schools who are good kids. I have a choice. So do they. That's what America is all about.

Why is the essay writer living here in the USA? The writer preaches hatred against the USA. The writer is calling all non-Muslims 'enemies.' How many terrorists are Muslims who hate the 'khuffir' hiding today? Are some Muslims raising their kids to be terrorists? I think that the writer hates the country that allows his family to worship and educate in a free way. Am I confused? The article creeps me out.

There are state and national homeschooling organizations that openly solicit Islamic membership as well as Jews and Christians. Most homeschooling organizations are openly religious Judeo-Christians who mistakenly believe that Islam is an equally tolerant religion.

I'm afraid that the Muslim is pretty correct about having his religious principles undermined by Godless secular humanism. My fellow Christians are opting for home and private religious schooling for these identical reasons.

However, as usual, the Islamics will destroy other religious education.

As you read the Islamic apologetic remember that the Taliban, (which means "student") was recruited from orphanages and boys schools throughout the Muslim world, including Kosavo as another FR post told us today.

American decadence is obviously a shared theme of this American Muslim intellectual community.

Today there's a column in the NY Times and the beginning of a groundswell of Dem. opinion blaming Republicans for the anthrax attacks because liberals are targets. I won't sit still while the Dems. blame us while ignoring the very public words of their Muslim fellow citizens.

Judeo-Christians are all considered infidels, but many Muslims view the left as particularly corrupt. The world is influenced by American TV, movies, news and is lectured to by Americans pushing abortion rights, etc. The Muslim children are exposed to anti-family, anti-religion PC in public schools....all controlled by the left.

In spite of this, right-wing gun owners and military folks will risk their lives to defend all Americans' freedoms, even Democrats. Some people do take the 10 Commandments seriously. Love thy neighbor isn't simply a catchy slogan. Dems., shame on you for blaming us for the anthrax poisonings or any other evil act in this terrorist campaign. Plenty of people around the world don't share your views. Most of them wouldn't care if you disappeared tomorrow. We are fellow Americans and would fight for you. You better learn now who your true enemies are. We are a great nation. We are at war with those who want us all dead or converted. Whose side are you on?

Me, too. Before 9-11 I would have said that Mid Eastern rhetoric, storytelling styles are historically colorful and detailed. Now, I see a fanatic who's considered a moderate and I don't know whether we can all live together. There are a few hopeful things to remember, Muslims and Christians have lived together peaceably in Turkey for a long time. Most Muslim people want us to get rid of the terrorists in their nations. Most of our nation's united and many families are closer now than they were on 9-10.

I do know that Democrats who blame Republicans for any terrorist act don't know much about their Muslim neighbors, and we need to nip this lie in the bud, fast.

What it shows is that one segment of the Muslim population in the USA is very anti-"non-Muslims", and especially anti-Liberal. It makes those individuals blaming Republicans for the anthrax attacks look both uninformed and clueless, and I'm tired of these personal attacks on our honor. They're petty and we haven't the time to explain to them the serious differences between Usama and Oliver North.

I didn't know about the Taliban recruiting from the orphanages, but it isn't surprising. Muslim leaders have been recruiting in America's inner cities for decades...up to a million black Muslims now live in the US. The excuse to blame others for all personal failures along with the instant family and the presence of an authority figure where fathers have long been absent must be very tempting, cult-like and diabolical.

I was hoping to focus on the cultural values of this sector of American Muslims to prove to the left that they most certainly are a target of some Muslim rage...and to warn them to stop blaming their mostly very decent Republican countrymen for any current terrorist atacks.

Why would anyone of any political persuasion or nationality choose to put their child in a school that fails to teach? This is common sense and nothing else.

I see he (rightly) is deeply concerned over the seeming overnightness of the moral decadence engulfing Muslim youth. He balmes it on the culture, the media, America in general. And I understand what he's saying-yes the culture and government is increasingly decadent, yes the media is morally bankrupt. But the fact that so many, if he is correct, Muslim youth are turning away from Islam and morallity-shouldn't that give him pause to consider his religion? It is not entirely the fault of America-sure, there are influences, but it should not be so, if his religion is true and his Allah has real power, it should not be that force or threat of force keep Muslims in line. That is the fundamental flaw (besides simply not being the way to God) of Islam. It is the reliance on force. I admire their morality, thier stance on political and cultural issues, their dislike of government control. But it is the source from which these ideas flow, and the idea of forced conversion if needed, that causes me to see Islam as a threat and potential danger. I will never call for inoccent people be deported-I still remember a thing called the Constitution-but i can not and will not accept Islam as truth, and will not accept it as a treuly peaceful religion.

You are very perceptive and you think clearly. I also thought it odd that this fellow lives in America and yet has such strong criticism, but I know why this happens. He implied that he came from Bangladesh. Bangladesh is extremely poor, very very densely populated, extremely corrupt, economic development is generally impossible in Bangladesh. They actually have pirates from Bangladesh that go out on the ocean and steal from other nations' ships at gunpoint of course. The mentality on the other side of the world is such that they want desperately to come here because things are so very very bad over there. Lots of people who actually hate America would love to come here.

History will record who tried to unify this nation and world for a noble cause, and who tried to tear us apart. Ragtime Cowgirl Well and truly said ... but will the heretofore somnambulent people record the fatcs? The dems have counted on the dumbed-down sheeple for so long, they feel they can sacrifice our safety for a while longer if it will get more dems elected, so they'll probably get away with it without the people catching on ... the media is complicit in the disinformation their masters at dem party send down, and the people are none the wiser usually.

Before 9-11 I was of the opinion that the battle of tomorrow was to be between the God-fearing and the Godless. Many of the concerns about securalism and the decadent society of the West are shared by right thinking Americans and Islam. But the events leading up to and coalescing with 9-11 have created what I am afraid is a irreconcilable schism.

My opinion may ultimately turn out to be a three pronged war if the Western left continues as they have today, trying to focus the anthrax on the right, between Western God-fearing, Eastern God-Fearing and the Godless.
