Although I was young when Carter left office (seven years old), I believe Carter is a much, much better human being than Clinton. A lousy President, to be sure. But I didn't feel myself wanting to take a decontaminating shower after seeing Carter on television, the way I do with x42.

Of course, my late mother voted for Carter, and Clinton too, just two months before she died. I'm grateful beyond words that she didn't live to see the Great Prevaricator take the oath of office.

Jimmy Carter was a pathetic man. He was clearly out of his depth in dealing with foreign affairs, we have him to thank for the beginnings of Islamic fundamentalism in Iran. He showed no guts in dealing with Iran (ie. not backing the Shah). His domestic policies had inflation up to 25%. His character was as useless to America as Clinton's. The world lost respect for us during Carter's failed administration. Just because he was "nice" does not make him good.
