The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.

Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams

You are hearing what you want to hear in order to keep up your unremitting hammer pounding away. You really need to get full time employment or marry a querulous wife. This would deplete some of that excess energy you evidently possess. Or perhaps you could research more fully and then weigh pros and cons and give us something to consider.

Thats okay but I am quite sure that the documentation available clearly shows that the Church and Pius XII were held in high esteem by Jews until after his death. In about 1963 a play came out that impugned the Pope,I think the name was "The "Deputy"and the writer Rolf Holstreuth or some such name. The play opened shortly after the "wannabe god men" recognizzed that the Church they believed had suffered its final blow actually was coming back stronger than ever. Ever since the battering has been relentless. Not that you care.Fah-foo.I bet if you knew how much I enjoy using the expression and how my grandchildren laugh when I say it you would never have given it to me.

The odd thing that Pius XII, who is accused of doing "too little" because he was antisemetic , did more for the Jews than Roosevelt and Churchill, both Judophiles with huge armed forces at their disposal. Pius knew --because there were pro-germans in the Vatican--that not only the Jews but the Church was being held hostage by a man who had sold his soul to the devil--like the man with whom he was at war, Stalin.

I'm not sure you understand. To describe the discussion as "Christian" is a bit of a misnomer. One of the religions being discussed here could properly be described as anti-Catholicism rather than Christian. Christianity implies regard for the truth, even where there is disagreement as to what the truth is.

Translation: If ya don't agree with allend. You're not being very christianlike.

me "and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?"

you And like many, most conveniently you ignore that this reference to Daniel in Daniel 12 is meant and correctly translated "end of the age."

The "end of the age" (Daniel 12) is the only "END" the Bible declares. The Old Covenant age ended in the 1st Century.

Do some language and concordance study before you base a theory on one word like "world."

Ya right. Grow up dude. You tell me my definition of "world" is wrong because you've studied the word? Where's your proof? It isn't correct just because you tell me you've studied the word. Proove it. I'm sure your cult has it cut and pasted somewhere.

That, and if it doesn't come from Rome it can't be truth. Cuz they said so.

But they have the solution for that, you see. Just get together with a few fellow good guys, and found a new church.

Better than staying in a corrupt church.

Yep, any church that allows homosexuals to be priests or pastors, whether RC or NC, is by defintion corrupt and is wasting away from the inside, like a cancer inside the body.

Just curious, but did Jesus say something about a person who calls someone else a "fool"? Do you think Jesus might have felt the same way about someone who called someone else an "idiot"?

Just curious. When did I call someone a fool? Did he say something about bearing false witness as well?

REG, how many times have you been called an "old fool"? Did P2BA ever voice criticism of the name-caller?

You didn't. You called someone an idiot. I'm just wondering if what Jesus said about calling someone a "fool" also applies to what he said about calling someone an "idiot"? Do you think it does?

And to answer your last question: yes, Jesus spoke very strongly about not bearing false witness.

Will you answer my questions now?

Not that this question was addressed to me, but I feel compelled to respond. I never noticed someone (anyone) calling REG an "old fool." If I did, and I thought the person who said it did not mean it in good fun (as in, a joking expression from someone who knew REG well enough and was on good enough terms to use the phrase in a non-offending manner), I would have spoken up about it. That it happened (as I'm guessing you are implying) and I didn't see it is not my fault.

And although I appreciate the sentiment from you (that I somehow turn a blind eye to a Catholic responding in debate with a spirit of non-Christian behavior), I should point out that I have, on occassion, voiced my opinion to certain Catholic posters that I thought they were not acting in a Christ-like fashion, something of which I am quite certain I've been guilty of as well.
