Jeb Way Ahead of Janet

Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is trouncing controversial former Clinton Attorney General Janet Reno, and not just in the polls: He has raised 12 times more campaign money.

As of Sept. 30, he had $1.25 million for his 2002 re-election campaign, and she, considered the Democrats' gubernatorial front-runner, had a mere $102,179, the New York Times reported today.

Reno, meanwhile, had little to say Thursday about the Sept. 11 attacks by terrorists who trained in the United States during her watch. Instead, in a speech at the University of Iowa, she spoke about that favorite liberal topic, "the children," the Des Moines Register reported today.

"The challenge for you students, coming off this crisis, is how you prepare your children for the future. Children have such simple, basic requests, yet we have failed them too often as a nation," said the woman who oversaw the government violence against the Branch Davidian children near Waco and the armed abduction of young Cuban escapee Elian Gonzalez.

I hear that Fidel is looking for a few good men . . .
maybe she can get work in Cuba?
Some things I don't want her to do:
--Elian's nanny
--Rolling my cigars
--Dancer in Havana nightclub
I guess she could be a Cuban guard at Guantanamo keeping the starving millions off our base.

Don't let Ms. Reno get too far - we could use her over in the Middle East since she has this thing for taking out fringe religious groups.

What do the polls say? Is the election this November, or next year?

I want to know why she was campaigning in Iowa.

Maybe she's on that cross-country driving tour she said she was going to t-t-t-t-take.

On a more serious note, she probably thinks she can just play the "courageous handicapped senior citizen" role when things calm down, and be a shoo-in, with a little help from her friends, the voting machines.

Last year: headlines about Reno and cyanide gas.
This year: headlines about Reno and anthrax.

She just can't win.

Maybe she's pulling a Hillary. Collecting campaign money from all the other states because the state she's running in won't give her any.
Lazzio had about 3X as much as Clinton from NY contributions.
Which brings the concern about voter fraud to the forefront......
