part of the reason I posted a thread about this is I believe that the feds are monitoring message boards sites like this. I am hoping this will at least put into thier thoughts that it is a possibility. I think an email to any agency could easily get lost in the billions they are getting right now.

You may be on to something. A few days ago (maybe a week?) they announced they were putting together some kind of think tank with military strategists, suspense novel authors, and movie folks. The idea is that these people can put their heads together and think up potential terrorist strategies -- and solutions -- and head 'em off at the pass.

I kinda chuckled when I heard that, because I was instantly reminded of "Footfall" (a novel by Jerry Pournelle and Larry Niven). In that book, Nasa put something similar together with science fiction writers to try to get a jump on what the alien attackers were doing. When I read the book, I thought to myself "man, this isn't a bad book, but he lost it there -- no way would anything even remotely similar to that ever happen. The gov't asking fiction writers for help? The author is projecting!"

Now, it suddenly doesn't seem quite so absurd. So the idea that they'd be looking here for ideas isn't so far fetched either. I hope they're able to glean something from some of the better threads here. With the stakes as high as they are, anything that could help them deal with the enemy should not be disregarded.
