A good friend of mine works for the parent company of this product,
Destiny Powerchutes, in my tiny little town of Three Rivers, MI and he was saying they were concerned about marketing this because they did not want to appear to be capitalizing on the attacks, but they have been overwhelmed with requests even from their limited advertising. They just purchased a new building to increase their production capabilities.
If you go to the trouble to get a chute, at least take the basic training so you know how to jump, fall, and release.
When you get one make sure it's rigged and packed properly, e.g. you want quick (no delay low speed) opening, facing front. Make sure you properly maintain and store it.
I would say your friends company is definitely attempting to capitalize on the WTC disaster. "Executivechute" is a dead giveaway. Probably evacuation systems would be more effective, e.g. Cable brakes, rappeliers. Telecommuting is probably the best option, that's my plan.
