I was asking on Capitol Grilling a couple of weeks ago who the Dems could turn to after Sept. 11. The British Tories turned to Churchill after the coming of WWII discredited the appeasers, and I asked who would be the Dems' Churchill. I had just heard Lieberman speaking at a hearing on terrorism that had been repeated on C-SPAN, and I suggested he might well be the man.
This news from yesterday makes that suggestion seem even more plausible. We certainly do need an inquiry of some sort into the things that went wrong that could allow Sept. 11.
