USO Canteen Freeper Style

War has come to our shores. It was committed on American soil.  We have been able to live in Freedom only because of those who have fought in the past wars giving life, limb and all the sacrifices for us to live in Freedom and go about our day without fear.

On September 11, 2001, that comfort, that feeling of living in a land that would not be attacked ended.

William T. Sherman said it succinctly, "War is hell."

The day has come for this Nation and its people to understand that there is a risk in losing its freedom, and in reality there always has been. We have ONLY stayed free because of the sacrifices of our military, our warriors.

This is about saving the future of America. Aristotle said, "We make war that we may live in peace."

We are seeing the American Flag flying at homes now more than ever in my lifetime. We are seeing the American Flag flying on vehicles and people wearing Flag pins and small Flags on their clothes. America is united in the cause for Freedom and for our country to WIN against the evil that came upon our land to kill and hurt us. To change our way of life and to destroy America which is US, you and me. To take away our precious Freedom.

This is the Freeper version of the USO Canteen. Where soldiers could come and feel a small part of being at home. It is a place where you that have family in the military can post a thought to a loved one that might be able to read it far away from home. A place where we that support our military can help support them, post to them, fun graphics showing the price in America and our troops. Poems, quotes, cartoons, or articles of how America is behind our troops.

Those in our military are our Nation's warriors. Let us join hands, fly our Flag and let the world know how important our warriors are to us....And that our MILITARY, our Warriors, are America's TRUE HEROS!

WOW !!!! I printed this logo out and the write up too. WOW. Mr. Snow Bunny is going wild he is sooooo happy at what you did. He was in the Navy from 1952- 1960.

From 1954 to 1956 he worked at Eglin Air Force Base at the Navy All Weather Test Detachment. He tested planes , choppers, jeeps etc. under 80 degrees below zero in a 300 x 300 hanger. He said they had missiles there and to work there they checked him out back to his baby days in a sandbox to make sure he could do top priority secret stuff. He just said there were things there Americans would not see for 15 years they were working on.

Funny story ; He made a bet with a couple of Navy guys like he was that he could run through the 80 below hanger only wearing shorts and a t-shirt and sneakers. Giggle...he won the bet.

Mr. Snow Bunny loves FR.He is almost at the point of letting me do a profile page for him and his joining up. He is a FReeper at heart already. I just have to find out how to do it with both of us. We do have two computers , just not sure how to work it out. I am going to ask JimRob if it is ok and how to do it.

He LOVES the things you do so much. Some of the artword we have printed out and in a frame in his office. Like the one of Bill and Hill in the bushes etc. hahahaa

Hi There, SB. Tell Mr. SB that I am really impressed if he can run thru that -80 hanger in his undies and gym shoes. He's quite a man!! (At least he *used* to be,,, heh, heh). Has he ever mentioned if he noticed any brass monkeys laying on the floor in agony in that hanger?

SB, I took the liberty of dragging in a big screen TV for the Canteen. I thought the troops would like to watch the Prez tonight while they're relaxing here.

And continuing with my theme of "Granny's Comfort Food", tonight there are huge pans of Ham Loaf and Escolloped Potatoes. I'll be in the kitchen fixing the tossed salads. I've been baking pies all day,,,, Peach, Cherry, Dutch Apple and wild Raspberry. If you could send someone back to help me cut all those pies, I'd appreciate it.
