I'm open to the Bible codes revealing prophecies of God. But when are these predictions actually going to predict something?

The people who promote the Bible codes contend that it would not be proper to attempt to predict with them.

Many of the "prophecies" in Scripture were written so that those in the events depicted would not recognize the fulfillment until after the fact. However, the resemblance to the prophecy was meant to edify the believer and help convince the unbeliever.

I have not studing the results in Hebrew directly. I have written some code to attempt to find similar effects in English texts and found none. It could be that Hebrew is structured such that chance occurrences are more likely. However, the "experts" who have examined this phenomenon have compared results with other Hebrew texts and not been able to locate similar effects in non-Biblical texts.

I don't know what to believe about it, but it does produce some startling results. Go look at the site!

Remember that the Dead Sea Scrolls demonstrated that the current Hebrew texts are EXTREMELY faithful to the originals. Else, this whole train of thinking would indeed be specious.

As has been well said, they appear to be worded in a manner more given to understanding clearly after the fact. I do suspect this will not ALWAYS be the case--but it has been more the case so far--not an uncommon phenomenon with Biblical prophecies in the surface text--as has been pointed out.

Part of the problem is imagining what might happen before it happens. One has to have a clear notion of what to search for.
