WHAT: The Laureus World Sports Academy, a dedicated “dream team” of 42 legendary athletes, will converge on New York City for four days of activities in support of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation and the Laureus World Sports Awards.

The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, whose mission is to fund and promote the use of sports as a tool for social change throughout the world has teamed up with Inner City Games and the New York Sport Foundation / Midnight Basketball league and will visit:

Sutton Gymnastics – 3:30 PM – 20 Cooper Sq. – Academy members will take part in the after school gymnastics clinic and grief counseling session with children affected directly by the 9-11 attacks

New York Sport Foundation / Midnight Basketball – 7:00 PM – 145th St and Riverside Dr. – Academy members will participate in a All-Star basketball game complete with a Slam Dunk contest and a full-court game with youth from New York and Virginia Midnight Basketball Leagues

** PLEASE NOTE ** NO one-on-one interviews will be available at the events on March 18th. All one-on-one requests will be fulfilled at the March 19th media conference

The Laureus Awards will take place in Monaco in May.
Maybe there are some New York FReepers who want to FReep the event in New York on March 19th. There will probably be Media there.

(Note: Laureus is based in Europe, I think, but, they're holding their ceremony in Monaco.)
