A friend suggests that Leo Wanta may shed light on the death of Edmond Safra.
Apparently Tom Hennigan has discussed Leo Wanta with you on your show.
It's said Wanta destabilized the ruble to hasten the collapse of the Soviet Union and victory in the Cold War for the West.
Now he has been framed on tax charges by the state of Wisconsin.
In this he seems so like Martin Armstrong, scapegoated for the crimes of Republic Securities.
And like Ted Maher.
The Geneva prosecutor has said Safra was killed for cooperating with the FBI re the laundering through Safra's Republic of $4.8 billion in IMF loans to Russia--the exact sum which Russia has magically produced recently to pay off its debt. Go figure.
Ted Maher has been scapegoated for the Safra death, and Anne Williamson of Contagion emailed that she always knew Maher to be innocent. Henry Kissinger said at the time that Safra's death was a "vindictive act".
Would there be anything in the career of Leo Wanta which would have brought him into play with either Safra or the Russians using Safra's Republic Bank?
We are told by an Israeli journalist that Pavel Borodin was likely paid his Mabetex kickbacks through Banco del Gottardo which still maintains a branch in La Belle Epoque at 17 Avenue d'Ostende--where Safra died December 3, 1999; and where Safra maintained a branch of Republic National, which is there now as HSBC Republic--Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation said to have Li Ka-shing of Hutchison Whampoa on its board.
Putin bailed Borodin for three million. Now Ted's fate is complicated by the entry into the case by the brothers of Edmond, namely Joseph and Moise, and their legal team headed up by Philippe Lemaire.
The widow Lily is represented by Stanley Arkin from the Amex case in the early '80's and by Brendan Sullivan who defended Oliver North in Iran-Contra. Arkin defended Natasha Kagalovsky of Bank of New York, wife of Konstantin Kagalovsky former head of Menatep Bank.
Prince Albert of Monaco will be in New York giving Rudy a whole half million dollars arising out of Monaco's "long-standing and intimate relationship with America"--and it's all in quarters from laundering money.
