The Koran also states that one will enter Paradise in the same physical form that one leaves this earth. So the hijackers are going to enter paradise as 160 pounds of extruded goo? Cool!

I read a book, "Pipe, Clay, and Drill". I have it packed away somewhere. As I recall, he threatened to bury them with pigs. But it has been many years since I read it. parsy.

How about we hire that German performance artist who blew up a cow that was dropped from an airplane? Only this time we make it a pig, and do it over Afghanistan.
As I recall, Freepers hired some light planes to do flybys a few years ago towing banners that labeled clinton a rapist. Where there's a will, there's a way.

It has the scent of urban legend about it, although Pershing did serve in the Philippines about 1897-1901 and gained fame in putting down some of the frequent killing sprees of the militant Moro Muslims.
Another Internet site proposes that the impurification-by-hog tactics were pioneered later, after Pershing had left the Philippines. An excerpt:
It was Colonel Alexander Rodgers of the 6th Cavalry who accomplished by taking advantage of religious prejudice what the bayonets and Krags had been unable to accomplish. Rodgers inaugurated a system of burying all dead juramentados in a common grave with the carcasses of slaughtered pigs. The Mohammedan religion forbids contact with pork; and this relatively simple device resulted in the withdrawal of juramentados to sections not containing a Rodgers. Other officers took up the principle, adding new refinements to make it additionally unattractive to the Moros. In some sections the Moro juramentado was beheaded after death and the head sewn inside the carcass of a pig. And so the rite of running juramentado, at least semi-religious in character, ceased to be in Sulu. The last cases of this religious mania occurred in the early decades of the century. The juramentados were replaced by the amucks. .. who were simply homicidal maniacs with no religious significance attaching to their acts.

Interesting. Thanks for your research. This Pershing story was written before 9-11. I would need to find a biography, or speak to someone knowledgable about his life.

The good Gerneral (and others) would give specfic orders about where to stick their sensitivity training and diversity-quilt making. You know, into dark places.

According to my encyclopedia this action took place from 1899-1903. Pershing was 40 yrs. old and a lieutenant. His fight was with the Moros. A savage Malayan tribe. He conquered them (was the first to do so) and won the admiration of Teddy Roosevelt. No mention was made of his methods.
